Sorry for being such a bad blogger but it seems that there never is enough time (yet strangely there IS time for reading large amounts of fan fiction regarding a particular pair that I ship, but each to their own). I have a stupid exam next week, one which I am in no way prepared for (typical) and so I should be spending all of my time studying. However, given that I have ignored this blog for way too long, I back with an Outfit August post.

OA: Pink Flowers
This outfit is from the beginning of August, when it was still lovely sunny weather in Prague and extremely hot out. M and I and some friends went to the river side to hang out. It’s actually not the easiest thing to pick an outfit when it is so hot outside but I quite liked this one. I went with these cute jelly sandals. You all know I LOVE jelly shoes and these are one of the few pairs that I have that are NOT from the brand Melissa. These are Ted Baker and they are the Aster bow sandals.
Gingham Midi
Usually I’m all about the short skirts and mini-dresses (especially in combination with black opaque tights) but come the warm weather, I also gravitate towards comfortable carefree midi lengths. This skirt in particular is a favorite of mine, it’s from Topshop and I absolutely adore it (the gingham print, the style and cut, the material, it’s all good.)
Fast Food Chic
Hey everyone, today I have a really fun outfit for you. I wore it last week when we went out to dinner. The whole theme was centered around this clutch bag. I’ve had it for a while but had yet to wear it. It’s the New Look burger clutch (in my mind, mine is a bean burger fyi). The clutch is really interesting with a lot of fun details and different fabrics, I’d say it is pretty good quality but it doesn’t hold that much. Usually I can fit my phone (without its phone case though), a few cards/IDs, some money (no wallet though, my wallet is huuuuge) and tissue papers (one of the most important items in my bag!) and then my keys and that’s about it. So like I said, not much.
Mad Max: Furry Road
Last week on Thursday M and I went to see the Mad Max: Fury Road film and we both loved it. It was predictably action packed, which is what we were hoping for, and Charlize Theron is so good in it (so is Tom Hardy, but I really feel the film is all about Furiosa, such a great character btw). I’m pretty sure we’re going to go see it again as it’s one of those films that are better on the big screen. I wore my Stradivarius studded flat ankle boots, because I felt that they were suitable for this film. I love dressing according to the movies we are about to go see. You know, theoretically, if I were to appear in the movie, I wouldn’t want to be wearing heels.

Caped Out
It was a bit dark by the time we took these photos so the quality isn’t very good, sorry. This outfit is from last Wednesday when M’s brother celebrated his birthday so the whole family went to dinner at our favorite restaurant. I really liked the outfit though I would have taken different shoes if I hadn’t been running late and then literally running to catch the bus. Oh well, next time I need to plan my time better so I have more time for the commute (1 tram stop and then 2 bus stops isn’t much of a commute but whatever.)
An unexpected movie date
This outfit is from Sunday evening when my bestie convinced us to go out and see a movie. They weren’t playing anything I wanted to see and because anything is better than going to go see a modern Czech movie (old Czech movies are awesome, new Czech movies are THE WORST), we ended up going to see American Sniper. I knew M wanted to see it but I wasn’t really interested and had quite a bit of prejudice against the film to begin with but in the end I was happy to have seen it. It’s definitely one-sided and obviously pro-war, but the film doesn’t pretend to be something different. I would be interested in having a look at the book (American Sniper: The Autobiography of the Most Lethal Sniper in U.S. Military History) just to see how much of the movie is according to the book and what was changed. Now on to the outfit.
Starting with the shoes. These are the Melissa Ultragirl flats that I got as a gift from M’s parents (last time I wore them here). I thought it would be interesting to mix pink with lime, I had picked the dress out first.
Friday the 13th
On Friday the 13th M and I went to a family dinner at the restaurant that we most frequently go to, as it is super close (two stops by public transport or a 15 minute walk) and we quite like what they serve there. This is the outfit that I was wearing.
I decided to risk the chill and wear some cute shoes as I am so sick of all of my ankle boots! These are my Asos “Leap of Faith” black and white Mary Jane flats. I think they are just the cutest. They are very comfortable to wear and go with basically everything in my wardrobe (or almost everything). Unfortunately it was still a bit too cold for them and my feet felt really cold on the way to and from the restaurant. Continue reading Friday the 13th
Kingsman
Last week M and I went to see the Kingsman film and I thought it was brilliant. I LOVED it! Colin Firth was amazing (seeing Mr. Darcy kicking ass was just perfect, really.) Anyways, for the occasion I decided to dress smart, as a kingsman would.
Transition
Picking up where I left off with Outfit August, here are a few picks from last week. Starting with Thursday‘s food shopping outfit. It has gotten rather cold in Prague so I’m currently wearing lots of variations of this outfit: opaque tights, sweater or leather jacket, cute dress, cute flats.
I’m sorry the photo above is so grainy, it was dark by the time we got to the store and since I hadn’t been documenting my outfits at the beginning of the week, I wanted to have at least something to show you. My outfit consisted of several old pieces (both my dress and the sweater are really old; the dress is from H&M and I bought it in 2011 – I haven’t worn it in ages but because of Outfit August, I decided to revisit it.) I’m wearing a (new) flower headband but you can’t really see it (which was my lazy equivalent of making an effort). The shoes are also new, I bought them in the middle of summer this year in the Topshop sale, they were super cheap. Right away I knew I wanted to wear them with black opaque tights to really highlight those awesome cut-outs (as much as I dislike cut-outs on dresses, I LOVE them on shoes!)
