Spring Awakening

IMG_0584

As the weather is finally starting to feel warmer, everything is looking brighter. While little to nothing has really changed (still working on that dreaded thesis paper, had a bad case of writer’s block but after a little break I’ll get right to it, I swear) but somehow, because winter has ended, things are simply better.

This is an outfit I wore this weekend, on Sunday for a family lunch at M’s parents’ flat and then out shopping. I haven’t been out shopping in what felt like FOREVER so I really had fun – I bought some necessities (a bra set and boy short undies; new yoga pants to help motive me into going to the gym more often than just once a week, also two new gym tops as I normally exercise in the most hideous tops imaginable and that certainly doesn’t help the situation), a huge shopper bag for the beach from O’neill, a new swimsuit and a super cute fake leather biker jacket from H&M. So the biker jacket is obviously my favorite purchase and y’all know that I don’t need ANOTHER black (fake) leather jacket to add to my collection, but when I saw it I just knew it had to by mine.

Me and My Unicorn

orange headOkay, first of all, I want to say this is my favorite photo of me in a long time and it’s kind of funny that it is since you can’t see my face. But the reason why I love it so much is because it is so ME. This is who I am. I’m the wacky kooky girl that poses with a orange slice shaped seat cushion in a parking lot after having gone food shopping. Yes, I wore this gorgeous outfit to go food shopping. Over dressed? Definitely but it was a state holiday (last Friday) and I had some time to have fun with my outfit and I went with M, so I had someone to take my photo. Most of my daily outfits don’t get documented because all of my photos are iphone photos and I usually need someone (M) to take my picture. That aside, though I do love the silliness of the orange seat cushion, I really love this outfit by itself too.

You may recall these shoes from my things I bought in Rome post, they are flat ballerina shoes with cut-outs from Zara.

Enchanted

Prague VltavaLast Tuesday was a state holiday and M and I went on a little outing. Instead of staying home we went to Prague’s city center and had quite a nice trip. Our adventure started in good form – with lunch at a place called At the Blind Cat. We had delicious crepes (that is their specialty), pictured below is the one I had (it was with warm raspberries and vanilla ice cream and whipped cream, yum) – M had a salty crepe (I’ve never had one before and was surprised that the dough was different). We also had soup (mine was tomato, yum) and we shared an additional crepe for desert (with blueberries and cream) – so suffice to say we were stuffed (I could hardly move).

Whisky Convention

very veronique asos flower texture black dress, mel toffe apple shoesThis weekend kicked off to a good start with Friday night: M and I went to the annual Prague whisky convention (Whisky Live Prague) and as I was dying to wear my new dress (the one I mentioned in my last post), I wore it to the event. The dress is from Asos and I love love love the texture of the skirt part. I kept the rest of my outfit relatively simple, going all black with some gold detailing (H&M studded belt, Asos left earrings), and as for my shoes…

A Change in Plans

jeans and strappy wedge shoesI planned on going to today’s exam (my last exam until finals) but I’ve decided to post-pone the exam. I’m tired, cranky, and have a vicious head cold. Although it would possibly help my french accent, I don’t think I could speak anyways. Yeah, it’s pretty bad. Head colds are the worst. Anyways, still I’m in PJ’s (cropped harem pants and a tank top, same difference) I thought I’d share something that I did last year the first week of September 🙂

Transition

IMG_3305Picking up where I left off with Outfit August, here are a few picks from last week. Starting with Thursday‘s food shopping outfit. It has gotten rather cold in Prague so I’m currently wearing lots of variations of this outfit: opaque tights, sweater or leather jacket, cute dress, cute flats.

I’m sorry the photo above is so grainy, it was dark by the time we got to the store and since I hadn’t been documenting my outfits at the beginning of the week, I wanted to have at least something to show you. My outfit consisted of several old pieces (both my dress and the sweater are really old; the dress is from H&M and I bought it in 2011 – I haven’t worn it in ages but because of Outfit August, I decided to revisit it.) I’m wearing a (new) flower headband but you can’t really see it (which was my lazy equivalent of making an effort). The shoes are also new, I bought them in the middle of summer this year in the Topshop sale, they were super cheap. Right away I knew I wanted to wear them with black opaque tights to really highlight those awesome cut-outs (as much as I dislike cut-outs on dresses, I LOVE them on shoes!)

Birthday Girl

JEANS AND A WHITE TEE ICECREAM GIRLThis outfit may be from a few weeks ago (the weekend before we went on vaca?) but it embodies my birthday/summer mentality: leather jacket, skinny jeans, comfy shoes, fruity ice-cream.  I’m definitely embracing a bohemian vibe this summer. I want comfort and adventure. Care-free clothes that still make me feel confident and attractive. As much as I love pretty prom dresses and sky-high heels (and I do love them very much), summer tends to lead me in another direction.

The Bill Bailey Show

rock chick style, leather jacket, henry holland stirup pretty polly tights, studded accessoriesLast Monday M and I went to see Bill Bailey and it was an absolutely great show. We’ve been fans of Black Books for years and have also seen lots of his available material online, so it was such a joy to actually see him live. Not to mention that in the midst of study hell, it was a very welcome break! I had another test to study for (that was written this Wednesday, I don’t know how it turned out yet but I think I did okay).  Now I’m working on my thesis and that’s a whole other story. Guys, I have until Sunday and I’m pretty screwed but I’m trying my best (that’s also why I skipped yesterday’s post.) Then I have a bunch of other exams but back to Monday and the cute little outfit I wore…

Red Shoe Week Continued

bunny girlThe first of May is a state holiday in the Czech Republic – it’s lovely to get the day off and in honor of that, today was incredibly lazy and relaxed. We got up late, went on a longer walk with Mr. Pig, then we were deciding what to do with the rest of the day – go to the Zoo and stop by the Indian food place for lunch, go to the nearby pub and have a typical weekend style day or go to town and visit a new restaurant, Bruxx. We went to town.
