OMG Lady Dragon

IMG_7149I mentioned buying this dress and the clutch yesterday, and here’s me wearing them! The outfit is from Sunday, M and I went to a family dinner (celebrating his dad’s birthday). I knew I wanted to wear the dress, no actually it started with me wanting to wear the clutch bag. And having picked it out to wear, I knew I needed a semi-neutral dress, something to complement the bag and so a LBD was an obvious choice, especially considering I had a new LBD in my possession! The hardest part was to choose the shoes as it was a rainy day and we weren’t going by car but I still wanted to wear heels.

Files of New: Ready for Spring

melissa green flatsToday I’m sharing another files of new post, since I’ve been naughty and bought a few things. My bank account is weeping but that’s a story in itself. But back to the new crap, let’s start with shoes, as shoes are always my favorite. The newest member of my shoe family are these Mel by Melissa flats that I sneaked into M’s order. I had been missing a pair of green Melissas and these seemed like the perfect pair for me.

Saying Yes to Body Positivity

I recently bought this book called Viva Voluptuous written by Sarah Clark, I purchased the book because my friend Leah recommended it (she blogged about it here) and I was looking for something to read quickly in the midst of writing my thesis paper. You know, something that is fun and entertaining and makes you smile while you’re reading it.

VIVA VOLUPTUOUSOne of my favorite things about this book is the fact that while it is outright fun (there are many laugh out loud moments) and you feel like you’re sitting around chatting with your girlfriends, it also holds an important message. You can be fat and be happy. You can be thin and be happy too, this isn’t a book that is saying “fat versus thin”, ( I would have hated that. I think  women should be out there supporting each other, that’s what true body positivity is all about) on the contrary, I believe the message behind it is truly pro-women of all shapes and sizes and just embracing what you have, no matter what size you are. I hate the general idea some people have that plus-sized people just sit around and do nothing all day and eat cakes and are a burden to everyone else. What a pile of crap. And I’ve really noticed, especially on the internet, some people feel that it is okay to be verbally abusive to people over their size. Well it’s not okay. (This is mentioned in the book. The current form of accepted discrimination is against the plus-size community. It’s socially unacceptable to be racist or discriminate someone over religion but bashing on someone who weighs more? Sure, that just means you’re concerned about their health… Fucking hell!) Just because someone weighs more doesn’t necessarily mean that they are unhealthy and just because someone is thin doesn’t mean they are happy or healthy. The point is, it doesn’t matter how much you weigh. What does matter is what you do and how you live your life. I love that this book is saying work with what you have, don’t go on stupid diets and feel bad about yourself, instead live your life to the fullest you can, be active, take good care of your body for you not for someone else, have fun, wear what you want and be who you want to be.

Anyways, I really recommend this book, I loved reading it and the set of characters were very well written (I loved Zoe the most). I’ve definitely found a new author to add to my favorites list 🙂

I carried a watermelon

IMG_7134I didn’t carry a watermelon, instead I carried a six kilogram box of sweet potatoes. Why? Because I had just bought them and I loooove sweet potatoes. I’ve never actually cooked them myself before, but this seemed to be the perfect time to give it a try. Anyways, this outfit is from Saturday when M and I went food shopping. When we go food shopping I generally go with a comfortable outfit ( = flat shoes) and something I won’t freeze to death in as it’s really cold in the store!

Puglicious

IMG_7080Just a quick outfit post today. This outfit is from last Monday when M and I stopped by his parents’ flat to pick up his Asos order. He ordered 3 polo shirts and I sneaked in a pair of shoes and a cute tee. I had also ordered a dress but I sent it back because the zipper was faulty. Anyways, my outfit was a mix of quirky and casual, which I think is my typical style really. The shoes are Topshop camouflage bow flats.

Ootd: Pinks and pleather

IMG_6990bJust a quicky today. Here’s an outfit from last Friday. I had taken the day off from work because we were supposed to attend a wedding but unfortunately M wasn’t feeling well so we canceled our attendance and just stayed home instead. We did go out to lunch but that was it.

At the Prague Zoo with Doris

IMG_7017One of my favorite things about the Prague Zoo is its location. If you take the cable way it lends an especially beautiful view once you get to the top (you can just walk it up but taking the cable lift is fun). We had a fun time but I was freezing so bad (I was wearing a sweater and a jean jacket plus a pashmina scarf but it was so cold!)img_6998

Potato Chips Please

IMG_7041Hey everyone, this is an outfit from Sunday. M and I went to his parents’ flat for lunch and then I did some computer maintenance for them, which surprisingly took much longer than expected. Then we went home and I had a really bad headache, so I didn’t get as much done as I had hoped.

Things I’ve learned from my planner

As you know, I’ve had my Erin Condren Life Planner for almost a week now and I don’t think I could love it more (well I could, if I had those awesome US/UK stores available but that’s not happening unless I move, which isn’t likely). After one week I can already say that it has been a good investment although it has been a pricey investment as well. From washi tapes to post its to cute pens and stickers, these things aren’t always cheap. Anyways, even though it has only been one week, I’ve already learned a lot about what I like to do with it vs. what didn’t work so well and also a few things about myself in general. Here’s what I’ve learned so far:

Caped Out

zara woman cape and yellow dressIt was a bit dark by the time we took these photos so the quality isn’t very good, sorry. This outfit is from last Wednesday when M’s brother celebrated his birthday so the whole family went to dinner at our favorite restaurant. I really liked the outfit though I would have taken different shoes if I hadn’t been running late and then literally running to catch the bus. Oh well, next time I need to plan my time better so I have more time for the commute (1 tram stop and then 2 bus stops isn’t much of a commute but whatever.)
