Temples, Blossoms and a Lighthouse with a View

Continuing on with day three of our Japan holiday: we took the train to Kita-Kamakuraa, saw the Engakuji temple and Kenchoji temple. We took the enoden train and saw the Big Buddha Daibucu (he’s the second largest Buddha in Japan and is 12 meters tall), and we also saw the Hase-dera temple (with the lovelly statue of Kannon), then we took the Enoden train to the end station Enoshima. We went up to the Enoshima lighthouse, M had dinner at Enoshima and I waited (as there was nothing for me) and had dinner back in Shinjuku, Tokyo.

Resolutions

Hey everyone, I hope you all are great and that January is treating you well. It’s gotten quite cold in Prague (it’s currently -4 degrees Celsius as I am writing this) but it’s all the more cozy in my flat. Drinking warm tea with a dash of lemon, sitting in my chair by the heater – it’s all good.

To start off the new blogging year I thought I’d share my new year’s resolutions. Now, I’m not much of a resolutions girl but this year I’m thinking of it as less of a strict set of rules and more as a guide to help me make this year totally awesome. So without further ado, here are my resolutions for 2016:

Last Minute Gift Ideas

Hey everyone, Christmas is drawing near and I thought I’d share some  easy last minute gift ideas, for those that have left getting gifts for the end of December. With only a couple days left before Christmas I’d say the best thing to do if you haven’t got someone a gift yet is first to NOT PANIC. While last minute gift shopping can be super stressful, it can also be fun! IMG_9510.JPG

NYC wish list

new-yorkSo I’m in New York city right now but since I’m writing this post in advance, I’m actually in Prague, in my bed room, packing my things and daydreaming about what I want to see while I’m there. I don’t know if we’ll get to see all these places, but here is my NYC wish list of places I want to visit:

1. Central Park

Autumn Wish List

There are so many things on my current Autumn wish list. This year in particular I’ve been wearing jeans a lot more than I used to and besides a new pair of skinny jeans, I am also on the look out for:

H&M dungareesDUNGAREES. Or overalls. Whatever you want to call them, I am totally embracing them this  year. I found the pair above in H&M and I tried on the size EUR38 (the largest ones that they had) and although I could put them on okay and they did fit, they didn’t fit they way I wanted. I’m looking for a very relaxed, slightly slouchy feel and that won’t work if the pants part look just like a skinny jean. I went to THREE different H&M stores and they didn’t have bigger sizes anywhere, it was super frustrating as I really want these, but in a size 40 or maybe even in 42s. I also quite like the ones pictured below, from Noisy May,  which are sold out, though I think I’d prefer a darker color, like the ones from H&M. Anyways, I’m totally hoping to buy a pair of dungarees while I’m in NYC.

Wish List

bird tree cage earringsI mentioned in one of my recent posts that I’ve bought some earrings and though I do love the ones I bought, I just had to share two pairs that I am head over heels in love with and also am seriously lusting after. They aren’t cheap so this will be just a platonic love affair, e.g. why this is only a wishlist and not a things I bought post. Okay, so the first pair is a lovely pair of mismatched earrings. I first saw them over on the Pixiwoo Madness vlog and fell in love with them straight away. One earring is a pretty tree and the second is a bird and a bird cage. I did track it down (the link supplied by Sam wasn’t working) here but $72.00 is a bit much for me to spend on a pair of earrings. The second pair…

WTW: University Exam

WTW short for What To Wear is series of posts where I contemplate what to wear (for a specific occasion). A real shocker that one. It’s actually one of my favorite things to dream up. Welcome to the first official WTW on Very Veronique!

Outfit I wore to the Zoo in June 2012 and which basically looks like something I would wear to an exam

For a Summer Semester uni exam outfit I have four very simple guidelines:

Pieces of the Past

I came across this amazing online store called Pieces of the Past.  Sadly the store is just about to close but luckily there is a silver lining to this story: they’re having a clearance. So we’re talking beautiful dresses at seriously cheap prices! And I just had to share it with you. The store sells some vintage items and some vintage inspired items. I went right to the dresses section, obviously. Here are some of my favorite:
