Making New Friends

The second day of our Tokyo vacation was just about perfect. We met up with Tatiana, a friend of one of M’s clients, and she was simply the nicest person ever. She also has the cutest dog ever, his name is Eliot but he goes by the nickname 2D (he got the nickname from an airport gate number but in Czech it sounds almost the same as “tudy”, meaning “this way” – coolest nickname ever).

How to be Single

IMG_0691

I mentioned going to the cinema while we were on holiday in Dubai and here’s one of the outfits that I wore. This was to see the movie How to be Single starring Dakota Johnson and Rebel Wilson and I must say, I really enjoyed the film. I could have done without Alison Brie’s character (Lucy, a girl who really wants to be in a relationship and is super annoying) but I was happy with how her story turned out (spoiler alert! She doesn’t end up with the bartender, thank goodness too because that would have been so cliché). I absolutely loved the other three main characters, especially Alice.

Foreign Land

Well, it’s finally time to share the outfits that I wore on vacation. Sadly, I didn’t take that many photos as it wasn’t a sight-seeing holiday but more of a lazy around at the beach type of vacation. However, we did go to the cinema a few times (and you know I almost always take cinema outfit photos) and we did also do some shopping, so  I do have a couple outfits lined up to show you.

The first of which was one that I wore out for lunch and some shopping. I’m wearing three favorites: my favorite red Toms  (I absolutely love these shoes and am having difficulty wearing anything else as these are just perfection), my favorite denim jacket (from Mango, I love a dark denim jacket. I’m also thinking of buying one in black. Definitely on my shopping wish list!) and my new favorite bag (it’s from Pull & Bear and I bought it in Dubai).

Desperate in Dubai

IMG_0682

Hey everyone, how have you all been? I’ve been doing pretty well, went on vacation to Dubai, which was lovely, but am still working on my thesis paper (and by working on I really mean ignoring and procrastinating all the time). The title of this post is a sort of inside joke – when we were in Dubai I kept seeing this novel (called Desperate in Dubai) everywhere (we go to bookstores frequently), I didn’t buy it because I wasn’t interested in it after reading the cover, but as a vegan I definitely felt a bit desperate in Dubai as often I only like one option of what to eat! (I actually have one particularly entertaining story from one restaurant where they had a “vegetarian wrap” and when I asked what was in it, they actually said “chicken”. Yeah, okay, no thank you. I ended up eating hummus and falafel most of our stay but since I actually really love both hummus and falafel, it was fine. Continue reading Desperate in Dubai

Late November in Wien

After Buddy passed away I was really sad, I get very attached to my animals and to me they are members of the family, so it was a hard time. We weren’t going to go visit Vienna this year but then M decided that I needed a change of scenery and we went for an extended weekend. The last time I was in Vienna was a year ago, in December, and it was after Dracul passed away (I think I was in more of a shock after Dracul passed away because at least Buddy had lived a relatively long life, he was about 14 years old, whereas Dracul would have only been 5 years old in the summer, so his death was completely unexpected) and I blogged about it here (you can see I look really sad in those photos). I hope next year we can go without any deaths preceding our trip, but I have to say that the change of place really did help.

The photo above was posted on my instagram and was taken in front of the Albertina museum.

Last Days of Berlin (pt.3)

IMG_9049I think the thing I’ll miss most about our Berlin holiday is the food. I mean starting every day with a delicious breakfast is AMAZING, especially when this delicious breakfast involves cheesecake. This was our desert on Monday (we first went to Keyser Söze for eggs and toast and then to Princess Cheesecake for breakfast dessert. Is breakfast dessert a thing? Well, I’m making it a thing because it is an amazingly good way to start the day! Yay sugar!

Berlin continued: Sunday adventures

IMG_8963Sunday in Berlin began once again with a lovely breakfast – first we stopped by Keyser Söze and then we went to Princess Cheesecake – and believe me when I say I truly miss those cheesecakes, they were divine. (Btw, as far as the outfit is concerned: I wore my new trousers, new Zara bag, new Sisley sweater and my trusty old flat brogue boots from Stradivarius.)

With Love from Berlin pt.1

with love from berlinOur trip to Berlin lasted 5 days, from Friday morning when we took the train from Prague to Berlin until Tuesday morning, when we once again boarded the train and headed home. The train takes about 4 and a half hours to get from one place to the other so it’s not so bad. After we arrived in Berlin we each purchased a Berlin Welcome card (it serves as a discount card to some attractions and also as a metro card). We then headed to our hotel to drop off our luggage and then went to have a late lunch at this really good falafel restaurant (Dada Falafel), which was right next to our hotel. Next we went to see the Botticelli exhibition at the Gemalde Galerie. Outfit wise, the majority of our vacation I wore these classic Toms in red. Love these shoes!
