I Want to Fly Away

IMG_7852I wore this outfit two weeks ago to M’s nephew’s birthday party. I curled my hair for the event, because I didn’t want to have the same old hairstyle I always wear (actually, I have three that I rotate: hair down, hair in a pony tail or a side braid). I centered this outfit around the bag. It’s from Skinny Dip and it’s the ice cream clutch. Doesn’t fit much but it’s super cute anyways.

WIW: all black

IMG_7630Just a quick post today (where has all  the time gone??), but here’s a recent (the weekend before last) outfit photo. M and I went food shopping and I wore a simple all-black outfit featuring these much-worn Melissa shoes (they used to be one of my most worn pig walking shoes actually).

Mel tangerine blackThere’s really not that much I can say about this outfit, just some really old pieces and comfy clothes. The only interesting thing was that I put in some effort with my hair do (or more effort than usually) as I braided my fringe (I’m sort of growing it out now, not sure what I will do with it yet). Anyways, here’s to a productive work week and see you tomorrow.

Mustache slippers

IMG_7570This outfit is from a weekend when M  and I and some friends went out to lunch, then we went to this little choco-cafe place called “U Cervene zidle” for dessert. Then we all went to the Prague Rum Fest (a rum festival) because M really wanted to go. And after that we went to have dinner, so it was a really busy day! My outfit was centered around comfort with a bit of style. I went with flats as I knew there would be loads of walking involved. I haven’t worn these Zara mustache green velvet slipper shoes in ages!

Fishkus Fest

Last weekend M and I and some friends went to a seafood festival (as most of you know, I don’t eat meat but I do eat some seafood.) The weather was perfect, sunny and warm. And so I had some fun with my outfit:

IMG_7411My theme was center around a play on black and white, the monochrome look is still a favorite for me but I mixed things up a bit by wearing one black and one white Melissa Barbie Stiletto print ultragirl flat shoe. When I bought them in 2011 I first bought the white pair and then right away I knew I needed the black pair too in order to do this mixed and matched look.

Potato Chips Please

IMG_7041Hey everyone, this is an outfit from Sunday. M and I went to his parents’ flat for lunch and then I did some computer maintenance for them, which surprisingly took much longer than expected. Then we went home and I had a really bad headache, so I didn’t get as much done as I had hoped.

The Beige Coat

IMG_6936I styled this outfit around this H&M beige coat with gold zippers. I’ve had this coat since the middle of winter, I bought it in the sales and have since been waiting for it to be warm enough for me to wear it. It was the last one there and it was a size bigger than I normally wear, but I prefer a relaxed fit sometimes.

Godzilla!

at the cinema

There was crap lighting but I still love this photo. Last week M and I went to see the film Godzilla, M wanted to go, I thought it was going to be a horrid movie. It’s funny that in the end M was disappointed and I quite liked it (spoiler alert: I was rooting for Godzilla and was afraid he’d die but he made it so I was happy).

Thesis Hell

wearing iron fist wedges and skinny jeans and a fake leather jacket

So, in the last four days I wrote my thesis paper. Yes, you read that right. It has hell, it was four days of absolute stress, four days of reading so many papers that all words just lost all their meaning. Frustration, depression, anger. It also was four days when I fell in love with Pride and Prejudice all over again. Reading Austen, or well, reading about reading Austen, has shown me that there is so much more to the novel than meets the eye when you read it for the first time. However, some opinions are just wacko. I wish I could have used that sentence in my paper haha. It was an interesting experience but I must say, I hate the academic style of writing (both reading academic papers and trying to write them). I felt as pretentious as Lady Catherine. One of the funniest parts was when I had too much written M used a Project Runway quote on me (“Use your editing eye.”) He was also a sweetheart, helping me figure out how to make footnotes go from number one in each chapter. Anyways, I spent the whole weekend ball and chained to my computer and didn’t leave the flat save for walking the pig, but I did go out to dinner on Friday night and here’s what I wore.
