The last of June

melissa shoes, iron fist bag, topshop gingham skirt, red t-shirt, express jacketAnother belated pre-London-holiday outfit post and it was an outfit that I quite liked. M and I went to do a spot of shopping before our vacation and we also went out to lunch to a burger joint (I had a vegetarian cheese burger but to be honest, I prefer veggie burgers if there are vegetable instead of cheese replacing the meat). I wore one of my favorite Melissa flats and the monochrome look with a pop of color really works for me.

Boho-edged

IMG_7994Another belated pre-London vacation post, this time featuring a dress turned skirt DIY item. It was originally from Stradivarius, it is really old (bought like 7 years ago?) and since I turned it from a dress into a skirt shortly after purchasing it. I think I wore it as a dress only once as maxi dresses aren’t really my thing. While I like them on others, they very rarely feel like my style. (Currently in my dress collection I have two maxi dresses, both very old but I do occasionally wear them.) So I decided to turn it into a skirt and have worn it a few times, I prefer it like a skirt and am glad that I made the change (if I recall correctly, the dress was really hard to get into anyways).

IMG_7997I wore an old necklace, also from Stradivarius  if I’m not mistaking. This look felt both relaxed with a slight boho vibe but at the same time with a slight edginess to it. I think the maxi skirt with the see-through fabric just does that on it’s own, the exposed yet covered juxtaposition.

Files of New: London shopping

Sorry! So sorry! I am seriously behind on my blogging schedule but there has been so much to do! I was hoping to have all the photos from my recent London holiday but I haven’t got them all yet, and the ones I do have haven’t been organized yet. I am incredibly behind schedule, but going on vacation usually does that to me (which is one of the reasons I don’t really like going on holiday, but I’m weird.) I have a few posts planned out but they should be up and posted soon, the first one on Monday. In the mean time I thought I’d share what I bought in London:

doc martens tan tattoo short bootI’ll start with my favorite purchase: these Doc Martens tattoo print tan lace-up short boots. I had wanted to buy them when we were in Rome on our holiday but they only had them in a size UK7 and they were too big, so when we were in London I found them in a shop in a size UK6 and the fit was perfection. I have a pair of Doc Marten boots (high ones, with 21 holes, also in a size UK6) but oh boy, those are still not comfortable/worn in yet. These seem to be wearable from the get-go but that probably is due to the height or lack of (the place where the other boots are uncomfortable are where they bend on the ankle, but as these new ones don’t go that high, they are fine.)

Just a quick planner post

I’m back from London (we arrived last night, cuddled Bananas and then went out to dinner) and right now I’m relaxing at home (I took an additional day off from work) and this morning my new Erin Condren life planner arrived! I chose the watercolor palette cover and it’s the 18 month version. I also purchased two sets of the Erin Condren markers (we don’t have Sharpies here). I filled out the past week and what went on during our vacation.

Neutral

This outfit came together on the basis of pairing neutrals together, I wanted to wear this beige dress (I’ll edit this post on Friday to add the product photos) and thought it looked good with the brown  jacket and the studded accessories. The dress was ordered on Asos (about three years ago) and the brand is called Angel Eye London. My belt is super old and from H&M and it came with a skirt, I love this belt and wear it very often. My jacket is from Express and my shoes are Zara. The outfit is from the 20th of June, I’ve been a bit behind on blogging. I wore it to the cinema to see Jurassic World. The movie was okay, I like the actors in it so that helped. Definitely wouldn’t go see it again but was a fun night. And I ship Owen and Claire. ❤️

zara collection studded slipper flats frontI’m currently on holiday in London so that makes things even more hectic than usual with the blogging and all. But so far my holiday has been very nice. I’ll be posting about it on Friday probably. I have a few more belated outfit posts to show you until then…

Files of New: sunglasses

h1n1 sunglasses aviatorIn preparation of our upcoming holiday, M bought me two pairs of sunglasses (there was a buy one get the second pair free promotion at the store) and I decided to go for this Aviator style from the brand H1N1. I went with the aviator style because I have a broken nose and aviators have an adjustable bridge, which I can manually tilt and make a little bit more comfortable. Usually sunglasses give me a headache after a while. Here’s hoping these will be comfy and stylish at the same time. The first pair I picked out are these black rimmed  black lensed glasses. The second pair are completely the same style but in a different colorway. They have a deep blue-green tint to the lenses (it doesn’t really come across in the product image, but in real life it is quite intense.)

I think the glasses are flattering on my face and they don’t press on my nasal bone too much so win-win. I can’t wait to wear them on my holiday and probably already tomorrow on the way to work, because these are too good just to wear on holiday.

I Want to Fly Away

IMG_7852I wore this outfit two weeks ago to M’s nephew’s birthday party. I curled my hair for the event, because I didn’t want to have the same old hairstyle I always wear (actually, I have three that I rotate: hair down, hair in a pony tail or a side braid). I centered this outfit around the bag. It’s from Skinny Dip and it’s the ice cream clutch. Doesn’t fit much but it’s super cute anyways.

Gingham Midi

IMG_7817Usually I’m all about the short skirts and mini-dresses (especially in combination with black opaque tights) but come the warm weather, I also gravitate towards comfortable carefree midi lengths. This skirt in particular is a favorite of mine, it’s from Topshop and I absolutely adore it (the gingham print, the style and cut, the material, it’s all good.)

Inspired by Furiosa

IMG_7600This outfit is from about two weeks ago – I have a bit of a backlog of photos going on as I haven’t been posting much lately. Sorry! I’ll hopefully be posting more these days. Anyways, M and I went to see the Mad Max film again and this is the outfit I wore.
