Where did summer go?

IMG_8546Sorry for being such a bad blogger but it seems that there never is enough time (yet strangely there IS time for reading large amounts of fan fiction regarding a particular pair that I ship, but each to their own). I have a stupid exam next week, one which I am in no way prepared for (typical) and so I should be spending all of my time studying. However, given that I have ignored this blog for way too long, I back with an Outfit August post.

OA: completely casual

This is an outfit from a while ago, it was right after my birthday and summer was starting to pick up speed (well, temperature) in Prague. M and I went to dinner and I just threw on the most casual outfit I could put together. Zara skinny jeans, H&M tanktop, Levi’s denim shirt, Tods classic canvas flats and my Iron Fist Bag.

Outfit August! Yay!

IMG_8480One of my favorite bloggers, Leah, is once again hosting Outfit August, which is a fun idea about reusing older items from your closet and not being obsessed about all things new all the time, as is the case with most fashion blogs. Now, don’t get me wrong, I love new things. But I also love combining new things with old items, or just going with all old items sometimes. Anyways, it’s already mid August and I have had a slow start but alas, Outfit August is finally here! I wanted the first outfit of Outfit August that I would post on my blog to be a bit special, and I think this was the perfect outfit.

It’s My Birthday, You Missed It.

IMG_8274July 10th is my birthday and we had just gotten back from London the night before, I took an additional day off from work to unwind post holiday. I spent the day lazying about and then in the evening M and I headed out to one of our favorite restaurant for a lovely birthday dinner.

London continued: Sunday Funday

IMG_8112Sunday started out exceptionally well with a Lola’s cupcake. I love cupcakes and blue icing is my absolute favorite. Though you can get cupcakes in Prague, I have yet to find the perfect blue icing cupcake here, but I had the great fortune to have two whilst in London (I only took a photo of one though, which had “happy birthday” written in chocolate and with my birthday being the following Friday it was perfect really.) And I also really loved the packaging, so cute!

Our first stop was Aldo, located near the tube station, where I bought my new two-in-one tote bag (which I mentioned in my what-I-bought-in-London post). Then we headed to the market and stopped by Miss Poppy Cakes for a coffee break, as it was still early for all the shops to be open. I really loved this place, it had such a fun and quirky decor inspired by Alice in Wonderland, the flamingo wallpaper was just adorable.

London continued: days 2-3

IMG_8073First of all, apologies for the delay in posting, I have been plagued with a bad cold and the last couple of days have been hellish. Finally, today I have been feeling a little better so what better way to celebrate than to get back  into blogging. I promised you some more photos from our London holiday and here are days 2 and 3.

Day 2 was Friday the third of July, M and I went to Westminster, walked around for a bit (just long enough for me to get a few blisters) and then we took a boat ride to Hampton Court Palace. It was our engagement anniversary, exactly one year ago M had asked me to marry him in the Hampton Court Gardens (and if you’re curious, no, we still haven’t set a date yet. We obviously suck at wedding planning, but I quite like that actually. Neither one of us is in any hurry, so we’re just happy where we are right now.)

London holiday: Bohemia Lounge

IMG_8036The time has finally come to share my London holiday. We arrived on Thursday, took the train from the airport and then went to our hotel. We had dinner at an Italian restaurant and then we went to one of our favorite London hang-outs: the Bohemia Lounge bar. This place is bloody amazing with the best cocktails ever!

Boho-edged

IMG_7994Another belated pre-London vacation post, this time featuring a dress turned skirt DIY item. It was originally from Stradivarius, it is really old (bought like 7 years ago?) and since I turned it from a dress into a skirt shortly after purchasing it. I think I wore it as a dress only once as maxi dresses aren’t really my thing. While I like them on others, they very rarely feel like my style. (Currently in my dress collection I have two maxi dresses, both very old but I do occasionally wear them.) So I decided to turn it into a skirt and have worn it a few times, I prefer it like a skirt and am glad that I made the change (if I recall correctly, the dress was really hard to get into anyways).

IMG_7997I wore an old necklace, also from Stradivarius  if I’m not mistaking. This look felt both relaxed with a slight boho vibe but at the same time with a slight edginess to it. I think the maxi skirt with the see-through fabric just does that on it’s own, the exposed yet covered juxtaposition.

Files of New: London shopping

Sorry! So sorry! I am seriously behind on my blogging schedule but there has been so much to do! I was hoping to have all the photos from my recent London holiday but I haven’t got them all yet, and the ones I do have haven’t been organized yet. I am incredibly behind schedule, but going on vacation usually does that to me (which is one of the reasons I don’t really like going on holiday, but I’m weird.) I have a few posts planned out but they should be up and posted soon, the first one on Monday. In the mean time I thought I’d share what I bought in London:

doc martens tan tattoo short bootI’ll start with my favorite purchase: these Doc Martens tattoo print tan lace-up short boots. I had wanted to buy them when we were in Rome on our holiday but they only had them in a size UK7 and they were too big, so when we were in London I found them in a shop in a size UK6 and the fit was perfection. I have a pair of Doc Marten boots (high ones, with 21 holes, also in a size UK6) but oh boy, those are still not comfortable/worn in yet. These seem to be wearable from the get-go but that probably is due to the height or lack of (the place where the other boots are uncomfortable are where they bend on the ankle, but as these new ones don’t go that high, they are fine.)

Neutral

This outfit came together on the basis of pairing neutrals together, I wanted to wear this beige dress (I’ll edit this post on Friday to add the product photos) and thought it looked good with the brown  jacket and the studded accessories. The dress was ordered on Asos (about three years ago) and the brand is called Angel Eye London. My belt is super old and from H&M and it came with a skirt, I love this belt and wear it very often. My jacket is from Express and my shoes are Zara. The outfit is from the 20th of June, I’ve been a bit behind on blogging. I wore it to the cinema to see Jurassic World. The movie was okay, I like the actors in it so that helped. Definitely wouldn’t go see it again but was a fun night. And I ship Owen and Claire. ❤️

zara collection studded slipper flats frontI’m currently on holiday in London so that makes things even more hectic than usual with the blogging and all. But so far my holiday has been very nice. I’ll be posting about it on Friday probably. I have a few more belated outfit posts to show you until then…
