The weekend before last M‘s niece was celebrating her third birthday so we headed over to M‘s brother’s flat to wish her a happy bday. It was still nice enough outside that I didn’t have to be all bundled up (this week it has gotten so so cold!) and I had an excuse to wear my new red skirt. It’s from Express and I absolutely love it.

Zoo Trip
On Saturday M and I went to visit the Prague Zoo. I got to see some of my favorite animals and wear a cute outfit, so I was a happy girl. I went in comfy Melissa flats because a)there was a lot of walking involved and b)it was threatening to rain (and it did in fact rain while we were having lunch). The shoes in question are Melissa Doris Spike t-bar flats in red. I really like these shoes. I’m a sucker for red shoes in general but I also absolutely love studs on shoes, so of course I love these shoes. Plus they are also really comfy!
Eyelet Lace
Last weekend M and I went to see The Guardians of the Galaxy again (I really didn’t want to have to study, plus I’m a big fan of Rocket and Groot). I knew I wanted to wear this dress because it would be one of my last opportunities this year as it looks crap with outerwear. I wanted to really exaggerate the shape so I added my petticoat underneath. It had such a lovely retro feel I thought I’d stick with it by adding this shoes to the mix:

WIW
The title of the post basically says it all (WIW = What I Wore). The photo above may be super old, as is the dress, but I re-wore it this week (without managing to take a new photo). But then again, I’ll use any excuse to feature Mr. then-tiny Pig. (I also adore this photo because we seem to have the same stupid expression on our faces!) Anyways, the dress is H&M and it has pockets. This time around I wore it with a black thin belt and my current favorite flat shoes:
Transition
Picking up where I left off with Outfit August, here are a few picks from last week. Starting with Thursday‘s food shopping outfit. It has gotten rather cold in Prague so I’m currently wearing lots of variations of this outfit: opaque tights, sweater or leather jacket, cute dress, cute flats.
I’m sorry the photo above is so grainy, it was dark by the time we got to the store and since I hadn’t been documenting my outfits at the beginning of the week, I wanted to have at least something to show you. My outfit consisted of several old pieces (both my dress and the sweater are really old; the dress is from H&M and I bought it in 2011 – I haven’t worn it in ages but because of Outfit August, I decided to revisit it.) I’m wearing a (new) flower headband but you can’t really see it (which was my lazy equivalent of making an effort). The shoes are also new, I bought them in the middle of summer this year in the Topshop sale, they were super cheap. Right away I knew I wanted to wear them with black opaque tights to really highlight those awesome cut-outs (as much as I dislike cut-outs on dresses, I LOVE them on shoes!)
Summer Time Staples
The summer season is my favorite, I love those days when the sun is shining and it’s hot. I particularly love when all I have to wear is a little dress or a skirt and top. But I also appreciate jean jackets. The outfit above – taken last Saturday, August the 9th – is a true representation of my summer staples.
Outfit August! 1-3
Hey everyone, sorry for the long delay in posting – summer is always so busy! To help me stay motivated in “organized” blogging, I joined Leah‘s challenge called Outfit August and I’m really excited about it. I love that this challenge is all about the fun and just using what you have. It’s perfect really.
The Good and Bad
My thesis writing days aren’t yet over. Only about a third (not even) of what I had written will be used. That’s the bad news. But the good news is, well, I think it’ll be a better paper because it. I took a break yesterday and just slept. It felt like I hadn’t slept for days. I was groggy and unhappy and I needed a break. Then M and I went to see the new X-men movie in the cinema and it was a great night. The film is so fun, I highly recommend seeing it. Today I’m slowly getting back into the swing of things but it won’t be until tomorrow that I really embrace the new direction of the thesis paper. I have all these timelines and deadlines set up, it actually feels like I’m organized for the first time in my life. Anyways, speaking of things planned, I’ll show you yesterday’s cinema outfit in tomorrow’s post, today I have just a few shoe for ya instead:
Not the Best Choice
On Friday I wasn’t feeling my best, I had a tough day and was a bit feverish, I hadn’t slept well with the exam of questionable results, let’s just say that I deserved a rest. Continue reading Not the Best Choice
