The weekend before last M‘s niece was celebrating her third birthday so we headed over to M‘s brother’s flat to wish her a happy bday. It was still nice enough outside that I didn’t have to be all bundled up (this week it has gotten so so cold!) and I had an excuse to wear my new red skirt. It’s from Express and I absolutely love it.

As for the shoes, we walked there (and if I recall correctly, we were running a bit late) so I needed something in which I could keep up. These Mel flats are one of my favorites because they really go with everything!

As for the rest of my outfit, it really was all centered around my skirt. I wore a long sleeved top that was tucked in and one of my favorite pairs of earrings (from Freedom for Topshop), cute red heart stud earrings.

Continuing on with the files of new, I wore a new fake leather jacket (Aeropostale). I love that it is quilted! I also quite like that it is slightly cropped and thus complements high waisted clothing, like my new skirt. It’s a shame that it is too cold now for I would have loved to be able to continue to wear both the skirt and the jacket.

Oh and I almost forgot – the bag is from Nic&Ollie and you’ve seen it before on the blog. (It’s always a big hit with the kids.)

I felt really great in this outfit, I think it was event appropriate and still very me. I loved all the fun details and I really need to try to remember to keep having fun – even if it is freezing outside!
