Strawberry shortcake

This is a photo (a bad one too, the lighting is terrible) from last Friday. I wore this to dinner and then to the vet’s office (Bananas needed to get her shots). Luckily the vet we go to is really fast and you go by appointment so there’s no waiting! Bananas was a sweetheart although she didn’t talk to me the next day (she was hiding in her little house, ignoring me. I’m not surprised, getting a vaccination shot is no fun. She has since forgiven me and all is right in our little world. Unfortunately she does need to get a second shot in two weeks.)

new look strawberry clutchMy outfit was centered around this  fun New Look Strawberry clutch bag. I love clutches especially when the weather is warmer. Though to be honest I could do with a bigger bag. (The search for a cute but generously sized bag continues.)

Hearts and Polka dots

IMG_6823This outfit was from Sunday when M and I went to have lunch at M’s parents’ flat. We walked there instead of taking the car (M wanted to have beer and I didn’t feel like driving, because I never feel like driving) and it was actually quite cold (it had snowed in the morning). I started with picking out which bag I wanted to take. I don’t have that many good bags, a lot of my bags are showing considerable wear and tear, and most of my bags are functional rather than fashionable. However, this H&M spotted white and black satchel bag is one of my cuter bags. It fits a good amount of stuff and I think it’s really adorable too!

An unexpected movie date

IMG_6776This outfit is from Sunday evening when my bestie convinced us to go out and see a movie. They weren’t playing anything I wanted to see and because anything is better than going to go see a modern Czech movie (old Czech movies are awesome, new Czech movies are THE WORST), we ended up going to see American Sniper. I knew M wanted to see it but I wasn’t really interested and had quite a bit of prejudice against the film to begin with but in the end I was happy to have seen it. It’s definitely one-sided and obviously pro-war, but the film doesn’t pretend to be something different. I would be interested in having a look at the book (American Sniper: The Autobiography of the Most Lethal Sniper in U.S. Military History) just to see how much of the movie is according to the book and what was changed. Now on to the outfit.

melissa-ultragirl-pinkStarting with the shoes. These are the Melissa Ultragirl flats that I got as a gift from M’s parents (last time I wore them here). I thought it would be interesting to mix pink with lime, I had picked the dress out first.

Ootd: Structured floral

Just a quick outfit post today. Had a super busy weekend and looks like this week will be no different. On Saturday we went running in the morning (just 3km but it’s a start), then we went to my parents’ house for lunch and to celebrate Buddy’s 14th birthday (he loved his pressies), we went food shopping, then my sister came for a visit, we later cleaned up the flat and then we had friends over for dinner and drinks. Yeah, that all happened in one day. BUSY.

Like a Lady

IMG_6530This outfit is from Sunday lunch and it has to be one of my favorite outfits of this year. Basically the warmer it gets the more fun I have with my outfits and this Sunday, I went all out. Starting with heels (anytime I wear heels it means I’ve made an effort), these are the Melissa por Herchcovitch Alexandre wedges with brogue detailing in black. I can’t say these are my favorite wedges as they aren’t too comfy, but they’re okay. We went food shopping after lunch and I survived a whole afternoon in them, so they passed the test. That said, they’re definitely not my favorite Melissas.

Wish List February

It’s almost the end of February (um like tomorrow) and I’ve definitely caught the Spring bug, meaning I love everything pastel and fun. Here are a few items I would love to own (but unfortunately I won’t be buying anything as I need to save up some cash for the summer, thus I have a shopping ban, and luckily or unfortunately some of these items are sold out anyways).

french connection tennis crepe drop waist dressThis French Connection drop waist dress is so pretty (unfortunately it’s one of the items that is sold out), I love the pale yellow color (hello lemon lover) and the relaxed fit seems like it would be perfect for the warmer weather. I also quite like the sleeves as I don’t have too many dresses with sleeves.

asos rainbow coin purseI’m totally in the mood for something kitsch and cute, so this Asos coin purse is almost perfect. I just wish it wasn’t a coin purse and was a clutch bag (e.g. bigger) because I adore it.

Can’t wait for Spring (shoes)

Along with every other blogger I am seriously anticipating the arrival of Spring (we’ve actually had quite a mild winter so it’s not so bad). I cannot wait to stop wearing boots! Pretty heels here I come! The shoes above are my Vivienne Westwood for Melissa Skyscraper court heels, which I’ve worn once to a wedding (not the best choice as there was surprisingly a LOT of walking and standing involved and my feet were killing me…) and have yet to re-wear. I’m thinking a cinema date would be perfect, lots of sitting down and all.

Fake It to Make It

It will probably come to no surprise to you that I have been completely, devastatingly sad lately. I’m trying really hard not to be overcome with the sadness though and I figured the best way would be to continue doing the things I used to really like doing, like this blog. Honestly, I don’t think the blog will ever be the same, Dracul was too much a part of it, but I still want this to be a happy place.

H&M blue coat with leather look sleevesI’ve bought a few things lately but to be honest they haven’t cheered me up too much. Nothing can take away the pain when you lose a loved pet, it just takes time I guess. But back to the materialistic crap I’ve obtained. Starting with a lovely coat from H&M. I got it in the sale for super cheap (it was 75% off) and since I liked it from the time it came out (but back then I thought it was over-priced) I knew that I wanted it. I really like the detailing – the leather look sleeves, the shearling collar, the gold buttons and the chunky zippers on the sleeves. I’ve worn it every single day from the time that I got it but pretty soon it may be too cold for it, but still I think it was a good purchase.

H&M blue coat with leather look sleeves backI placed an order on Asos when they had the 20% off everything sale and it has arrived today so that was nice. I didn’t really get too many things but a few nicknacks and a pair of pretty shoes. Continue reading Fake It to Make It

OOTD: Green on Green

IMG_4895This outfit is from ages ago (from the 24th of  October) and I was really going full out with the green. It all started with this dress from Topshop with its wonderful laser cut square cut-outs. I know I mentioned before that I dislike cut-outs on dresses (though I love them on shoes!) but with cut-outs like these, I really like them. Anyways, I first saw this dress in London actually, it was on sale but I think they didn’t have my size or it wasn’t that much on sale. Long story short, I stopped by my local (ha, there’s only one in Prague) Topshop store, saw it in the current sale, the last one and in my size, and I knew it would be mine.

Files of New: the pregnant parka

IMG_4810One of my most recent purchases, I bought this parka the week we returned from New York. I stopped by my closest H&M and was looking for those dungarees but alas they still didn’t have them (will they ever?) I wasn’t too upset though because I came across this lightweight parka. I instantly fell inn love. I liked the color, I liked the shape of the hood, I liked the pockets and most of all, I liked the high-low hem line. If done right I really like a slightly longer hem line in the back. Ever since I bought it I have been wearing this parka nonstop (well, until it got way too cold to wear it, which happened this week.) Funnily enough, when I was looking for a product picture on the H&M website and I couldn’t find it, I then figured out that it is actually from the MAMA line and is intended for pregnant ladies. Ehm.
