A few days ago M and I went to see the film “Chappie” and this is what I wore. It was a simple outfit as we had decided to go to the cinema last minute. My bestie stopped by at my flat earlier in the day and I gave her some clothes I was selling on Vinted (a bright pink winter coat and a few dresses) and some other dresses that I had in storage and hadn’t worn in ages. Anyways, amongst the dresses I gave away there were about three leopard print dresses and that definitely inspired me to wear this Asos leopard print dress that I had bought not long ago (about a month or two ago).

Wish List February
It’s almost the end of February (um like tomorrow) and I’ve definitely caught the Spring bug, meaning I love everything pastel and fun. Here are a few items I would love to own (but unfortunately I won’t be buying anything as I need to save up some cash for the summer, thus I have a shopping ban, and luckily or unfortunately some of these items are sold out anyways).
This French Connection drop waist dress is so pretty (unfortunately it’s one of the items that is sold out), I love the pale yellow color (hello lemon lover) and the relaxed fit seems like it would be perfect for the warmer weather. I also quite like the sleeves as I don’t have too many dresses with sleeves.
I’m totally in the mood for something kitsch and cute, so this Asos coin purse is almost perfect. I just wish it wasn’t a coin purse and was a clutch bag (e.g. bigger) because I adore it.
Can’t wait for Spring (shoes)

Along with every other blogger I am seriously anticipating the arrival of Spring (we’ve actually had quite a mild winter so it’s not so bad). I cannot wait to stop wearing boots! Pretty heels here I come! The shoes above are my Vivienne Westwood for Melissa Skyscraper court heels, which I’ve worn once to a wedding (not the best choice as there was surprisingly a LOT of walking and standing involved and my feet were killing me…) and have yet to re-wear. I’m thinking a cinema date would be perfect, lots of sitting down and all.
Kingsman

Last week M and I went to see the Kingsman film and I thought it was brilliant. I LOVED it! Colin Firth was amazing (seeing Mr. Darcy kicking ass was just perfect, really.) Anyways, for the occasion I decided to dress smart, as a kingsman would.
Waiting for Asos
Sometimes waiting for an Asos order, or two (or in my case SIX orders?!) can feel like waiting for Godot. I get especially anxious since I’ve had quite a few orders lost 😦
I’ll be posting some of the items ordered soon. 🙂 But in the meantime, how bout I share some recent purchases?

Fake It to Make It
It will probably come to no surprise to you that I have been completely, devastatingly sad lately. I’m trying really hard not to be overcome with the sadness though and I figured the best way would be to continue doing the things I used to really like doing, like this blog. Honestly, I don’t think the blog will ever be the same, Dracul was too much a part of it, but I still want this to be a happy place.
I’ve bought a few things lately but to be honest they haven’t cheered me up too much. Nothing can take away the pain when you lose a loved pet, it just takes time I guess. But back to the materialistic crap I’ve obtained. Starting with a lovely coat from H&M. I got it in the sale for super cheap (it was 75% off) and since I liked it from the time it came out (but back then I thought it was over-priced) I knew that I wanted it. I really like the detailing – the leather look sleeves, the shearling collar, the gold buttons and the chunky zippers on the sleeves. I’ve worn it every single day from the time that I got it but pretty soon it may be too cold for it, but still I think it was a good purchase.
I placed an order on Asos when they had the 20% off everything sale and it has arrived today so that was nice. I didn’t really get too many things but a few nicknacks and a pair of pretty shoes. Continue reading Fake It to Make It
Buyer’s Remorse
I’ve done a fair bit of shopping this month but truthfully, not all of it has been good. I hate it when I order something and then the item that I receive isn’t as I expected. I thought I’d share the bad purchases with you (and then maybe a few of the good ones 🙂 ).
The first item on my wish-I-hadn’t-bought list are these Ugg-like boots from Truffle. I was looking for a warm pair of boots to see me through the winter and although these could have fit the bill, the sizing is a bit off and I find them a tad too small. I am hoping I will be able to stretch them out a bit, but I have to admit to being disappointed with this purchase.
Birthday Girl
This outfit may be from a few weeks ago (the weekend before we went on vaca?) but it embodies my birthday/summer mentality: leather jacket, skinny jeans, comfy shoes, fruity ice-cream. I’m definitely embracing a bohemian vibe this summer. I want comfort and adventure. Care-free clothes that still make me feel confident and attractive. As much as I love pretty prom dresses and sky-high heels (and I do love them very much), summer tends to lead me in another direction.
Days of Future Past
I promised you this outfit post yesterday so here it is. So, this is what I wore on Monday night to go see the new X-men movie (which was pretty brilliant but I am definitely bias as I am a fan of the series). I was feeling really burnt out on Monday (after writing my thesis I was completely drained) so I look quite tired in these photos. As for my outfit, I dressed according to my shoes:
