I’ve done a fair bit of shopping this month but truthfully, not all of it has been good. I hate it when I order something and then the item that I receive isn’t as I expected. I thought I’d share the bad purchases with you (and then maybe a few of the good ones š ).The first item on my wish-I-hadn’t-bought list are these Ugg-like boots from Truffle. I was looking for a warm pair of boots to see me through the winter and although these could have fit the bill, the sizing is a bit off and I find them a tad too small. I am hoping I will be able to stretch them out a bit, but I have to admit to being disappointed with this purchase.

I’m Back!
Sorry for the super long delay between posts, I got back from NYC on Tuesday night but it has been crazy since. Wednesday was spent half in bed (jet lag?) and half unpacking. Then I met up with my bestie for a double date and we went to Bruxx for dinner. I was a bit disappointed as they had changed the menu (and my favorite dandelion salad was on longer on it), but otherwise it was a very pleasant evening out.
As it was cold and rainy in Prague, I opted for a comfy outfit. Starring one of my favorite purchases from NYC:
Autumn Wish List
There are so many things on my current Autumn wish list. This year in particular I’ve been wearing jeans a lot more than I used to and besides a new pair of skinny jeans, I am also on the look out for:
DUNGAREES. Or overalls. Whatever you want to call them, I am totally embracing them thisĀ year. I found the pair above in H&M and I tried on the size EUR38 (the largest ones that they had) and although I could put them on okay and they did fit, they didn’t fit they way I wanted. I’m looking for a very relaxed, slightly slouchy feel and that won’t work if the pants part look just like a skinny jean. I went to THREE different H&M stores and they didn’t have bigger sizes anywhere, it was super frustrating as I really want these, but in a size 40 or maybe even in 42s. I also quite like the ones pictured below, from Noisy May,Ā which are sold out, though I think I’d prefer a darker color, like the ones from H&M. Anyways, I’m totally hoping to buy a pair of dungarees while I’m in NYC.
Birthday Girl
This outfit may be from a few weeks ago (the weekend before we went on vaca?) but it embodies my birthday/summer mentality: leather jacket, skinny jeans, comfy shoes, fruity ice-cream.Ā I’m definitely embracing a bohemian vibe this summer. I want comfort and adventure. Care-free clothes that still make me feel confident and attractive. As much as I love pretty prom dresses and sky-high heels (and I do love them very much), summer tends to lead me in another direction.
London Shopping Pt. 2
Besides the dresses mentioned in my last post, I also bought some shoes (the 6 pairs pictured above), a cheap parka from Primark, a super cheap black miniskirt from Topshop, a petticoat, a real leather jacket, a lipstick, 3 books, 2 magazines, loads of tights, a lip balm and a pillow case. Phew, quite a list right?
London Shopping Pt. 1
Yesterday we just got back from London and our trip was amazing. I’ll do a recount of it in another post (I don’t have all the photos yet) but since I couldn’t wait to share at least something with you, here all the stuff that I bought! London is a major shopping event for us. In the photo above are all of the dresses I purchased. Yup, I bought 9 dresses. I also bought some other wonderful things but in this post it’s all about the dresses: Continue reading London Shopping Pt. 1
Little Hearts Everywhere
The day of my exam I bought this lovely playsuit over at Topshop and I originally picked out two more dresses but then I decided only to buy the playsuit. It was the last one available and it’s two sizes bigger than my size but I thought I’d just adjust it with mmy sewing machineĀ at home, but when I tried it on later that day, I decided the only thing it really needed was a belt to clench it in (also getting rid of the cut-out, I’m not really a fan of cut-outs). I wore the playsuit Wednesday night to go to the movies. It was a great night and I was so happy to have my exam done with.
Leopard Print is a Neutral
Friday M and I went to dinner and then I stopped by H&M to buy a pair of shoes as the ones that I was wearing were KILLING me. The irony that they were a casual pair of flats is not lost on me. I think I generally get waaaay more blisters from flats shoes than I’ve ever gotten from heels. Continue reading Leopard Print is a Neutral
Postponed
So I postponed my pending exam that was to be this Tuesday for health reasons (I had a pretty bad fever over the weekend and still am sick now but it’s gotten better). It’ll be on the 25th instead (and I have a different exam on the 23rd and a dentist appointment on the 24th, urrghh!) so on the one hand it’s great to have more time but on the other if I hadn’t been forced to just sleep and do nothing over the weekend, I’d have preferred having my exam over with. But life is what it is. No time to feel sorry for myself, I still have today to get better and then I need to do some SERIOUS studying. I don’t know how much blogging I’ll be able to do but hopefully I’ll manage a couple of posts.
London 2012
As I mentioned in yesterday’s post, we visited London again in July 2012 for another wonderful vacation (although it had rained almost entirely throughout our trip). This time we stayed for 6 days (5 nights) so we got to experience a tad more than on our first trip. The photo below is one of my favorites from our trip because that dog was adorable and oh so cuddly and also because it is the only photo I have of that scarf (which I sadly lost during this trip).
