The weekend before last M‘s niece was celebrating her third birthday so we headed over to M‘s brother’s flat to wish her a happy bday. It was still nice enough outside that I didn’t have to be all bundled up (this week it has gotten so so cold!) and I had an excuse to wear my new red skirt. It’s from Express and I absolutely love it.

My last days in New York
As Busy as a Bee
I think they should change that saying into “as busy as a person visiting New York City”. Anyways, our weekend was extremely super busy. We paid for a three day New York City Pass and we started using our cards on Saturday – we visited MoMA and the Met and also stopped by Central Park and picked up tickets for the next morning to visit the Top of the Rock (it was a rainy day and they had said that the current visibility was zero.) On Sunday, after breakfast we went to the top of the Rockefeller building (luckily it was a beautiful sunny day), then we went to the Intrepid museum, then we went to Central Park and crossed it to the Natural History Museum, and later still we went to the Empire State Building. Phew, Sunday was the busiest day. Anyways, the photo above is from this little diner where we went to hide from the rain and also to experience a true American breakfast. This was my meal (though I gave M half my eggs and all of the sausages and the bacon) and I had a vanilla shake. I must say pancakes and maple syrup are THE BEST BREAKFAST EVER.
Friday in New York City
Grand NYC
Autumn in Prague
It’s funny writing this post as by the time it will appear on the blog, I will be in New York. I don’t really know what to expect from NYC, but I love autumn in Prague. Especially early autumn when it’s not so bloody cold. This outfit is from Sunday, when M and I went to have lunch with my bestie and then we did a spot of shopping and then I had to stop by work to finish up some loose ends. I was nearly running late so I had literally no time to really think about my outfit, let alone time to pick out shoes, so I just went with the simplest option – a pair of black ballet flats.
Gone Girl
A Happy Visit
The last of my weekend outfits is this one from Sunday. I kept things casual with my oldest pair of shoes, my converse trainers. I’ve had these shoes since I was about fifteen. By now they don’t really look like the product image as they are beaten up and Mr. Pig has eaten parts of the laces (which I have been too lazy to replace, ops). Plus I happen to think that converse whose look better when they are all “lived in”. The rest of my outfit was a pair of skinny jeans, a thrifted mustard colored bag, M’s scarf, a striped tee (Zara) and a sweater that I DIYed (it used to be much longer, also from Zara).
A Long Piggy Walk
One of my favorite parts of the weekend is always when M and I and Mr. Pig go on a super long walk. I love that it’s the three of us together, we don’t get much down time during the week. So these long walks are really special to me. I’m also glad that I remembered to take my phone as I usually just leave it home and there wouldn’t have been photos otherwise. I’ve been wearing these shoes to work (I wore them two times last week) but hadn’t managed to get any outfit photos so I risked taking them on the pig walk and happily Dracul didn’t get them all dirty. You might remember them from the leopard print shoes post?
At the Fair
On Saturday M and I went to the annual grape harvest/ wine tasting celebration that takes place near where we live. Luckily the weather was beautiful and it was really nice just sitting at the vineyard drinking burcak (new half-fermented wine also called scrumpy). I picked my outfit for maximum comfort. I think I looked like a teenager. Definitely not my usual outfit but I quite liked it.
