You don’t need a tub!

One more post for you today because I was so inspired by my visit to the “other” Lush (I usually go to the store in Palladium but today I went to the place where you pick up online orders). I had such a good experience. Normally when I go to the Lush store there are loads of people there and it can be a bit overwhelming, this on the other hand is such a quite, peaceful place. Also, and here I have to say a little bit of critique on the Lush store, I have never EVER gotten any Lush samples from the Lush store, even though I purchase LOADS of items anytime I go there and have been a very good customer. Anyways, when you place an online order, you can choose two samples and I also wrote a note asking for two additional samples as I really wanted to try out two other items. The lady there was so nice and was genuinely surprised I had never gotten samples with my purchases before (this makes me want to boycott the store because they should be nicer to their returning customers). Now on to the good stuff.

If, like one of my friends who is currently visiting the States or my cousin who also doesn’t have a tub where she lives, you don’t have a tub, you can still enjoy (some) Lush products! I usually love (and write about) the bath products the most, but Lush has a big variety of soaps and shower gels and face masks and lotions and massage bars that you can still enjoy and pamper yourself with without having a tub. I’ve decided to share my experience with some of the products from my collection and today it will be soaps:

The confessions of a Hoarder

This probably won’t come as a surprise to anyone reading my blog for some time, but it’s true, I’m a bit of a hoarder. I hoard shoes, beauty products, dresses, perfumes and anything else that I like. 😊 One of my biggest issues is always storage, (so many things and too little space). Luckily about a week ago our new massive closet arrived! Yay!

(And it’s already almost full. Yikes!)

Wish List February

It’s almost the end of February (um like tomorrow) and I’ve definitely caught the Spring bug, meaning I love everything pastel and fun. Here are a few items I would love to own (but unfortunately I won’t be buying anything as I need to save up some cash for the summer, thus I have a shopping ban, and luckily or unfortunately some of these items are sold out anyways).

french connection tennis crepe drop waist dressThis French Connection drop waist dress is so pretty (unfortunately it’s one of the items that is sold out), I love the pale yellow color (hello lemon lover) and the relaxed fit seems like it would be perfect for the warmer weather. I also quite like the sleeves as I don’t have too many dresses with sleeves.

asos rainbow coin purseI’m totally in the mood for something kitsch and cute, so this Asos coin purse is almost perfect. I just wish it wasn’t a coin purse and was a clutch bag (e.g. bigger) because I adore it.

Can’t wait for Spring (shoes)

Along with every other blogger I am seriously anticipating the arrival of Spring (we’ve actually had quite a mild winter so it’s not so bad). I cannot wait to stop wearing boots! Pretty heels here I come! The shoes above are my Vivienne Westwood for Melissa Skyscraper court heels, which I’ve worn once to a wedding (not the best choice as there was surprisingly a LOT of walking and standing involved and my feet were killing me…) and have yet to re-wear. I’m thinking a cinema date would be perfect, lots of sitting down and all.

Lushed Out

I apologize in advance for this being a Lush post but it has been a crazy week and the only thing keeping me sane (besides my rabbit) is the luxury of taking a lush bath every day.

Because I’ve tried out a couple more products, I thought I’d share my thoughts on how those products were. Let’s start with my new absolute FAVORITE PRODUCT EVER!! Seriously, it’s THAT good. The item in question is the Lush bubble bar Holly Golightly:

The top photo, with me in the bath and all those bubbles? Yup, thanks to Holly Golightly. This is such a great product. The smell is amazing and super festive, I love the name, it turns your bath into a lovely green color and the amount of bubbles is just insane!! I used a fourth of the bubble bar each time and I’ve already used each piece. I’m kind of sad it’s not a permanent item because I cannot wait to repurchase (I have two more in my stash but I never want to run out, so I’ll have to use them strategically.)

Loving Lately: Stripes!

As Spring draws near (I may be in denial but please don’t tell me Spring isn’t on its way, I’m so over winter already!) I have been loving everything stripped lately. And a bit of gingham, and some pastel colors too. But back to the stripes, shall we? The dress that started my stripped obsession was this little Pop Boutique number:

I love that it has a little turtle neck as I feel that really offsets the shortness of the dress. The stripes are rather thin and are close together and the high neck has the stripes in a different direction. You may remember when I wore the dress here. (I cannot wait to wear it again but this time without a winter coat!) My stripe quest didn’t end with this dress though, as I managed to buy two more.

Valentine’s Day Gift Guide

I love Valentine’s Day. And that has noting to do with love or relationships, I just really like hearts and sweets and positivity. One of my fondest childhood memories is of Valentine’s Day at elementary school when we would all give each other paper cards we made and eat candy hearts. The great thing about being an adult is you get to give and receive actual meaningful gifts. Yay!asos harmony heeled shoes

If you’re struggling to find a gift for your significant other of the female gender or perhaps looking for a gift for yourself or a friend, Valentine’s day can be a bit tricky. What’s the perfect gift? For starters I’ll tell you what isn’t the perfect gift! Lingerie. For me, lingerie is a definite no-no. There are many reasons why it’s the worst gift and one of them is I think underwear is really something I need to try on, well, not the panties but bras for sure. A bra can be my size but it still won’t sit right so I would really dislike getting a bra as a gift. Secondly, lingerie is sort of more a gift for the giver than for the receiver. That said, lingerie can be a nice gift, it really depends on the person.

So if lingerie is out, what’s left you say? Shoes. Although shoes can also be something you feel you need to try on, but if you know a brand then you usually know what size you are with that brand. I’m usually a UK size 6 with Asos shoes, especially if they’re open toe heels (but if they have a pointed closed toe, then I need to size up to a 7). I adore the shoes pictured above, the Asos Harmony heeled sandals. The oversized bow is just adorable and I love the print of the shoes.

Files of New: Make-up

sephora 4 eye look books holiday setI’ve actually been really good and haven’t been buying too much make-up lately.  I really don’t need any more make-up as I have loads already but every now and then I do treat myself.

My latest make-up purchase was this Sephora holiday eyeshadow set that I bought in the sales. There are 4 eye look books: the smokey eye, the nude eye, the party eye and the metallic eye.

sephora 4 eye look booksMy favorite so far is the Metallic eye look book because I love wearing gold eyeshadow with some darker shadow in the crease to compliment my ever present cat eye liner. I also like the Nude eye book. In my opinion, you can never go wrong with a nude eye palette.

Sephora-Eye-Look-Book-SetI haven’t tried the Party eye look book yet but I’m intrigued. I have green eyes and I’ve been told to wear purple eye shadow to emphasize the greenness  of my eyes, but it’s not a look I  would usually go for (I swear by the cat eye. It’s just so simple to do and there are so many possibilities!)

All-in-all I’m happy with this purchase. I wouldn’t have paid full price for it but in the sales I think it was a really good buy. I’ll definitely be using these products so that’s good!

Mountain Girl

IMG_5547Mountain climbing/walking is definitely not my usual weekend activity. I’m a city-girl though and through, I once literally had an allergic reaction to fresh mountain air (okay, so it probably had more to  do with the chlorine used in the pool that we went to later but whatever).  I prefer the city to the country side and shopping is my cardio. Nonetheless, M convinced me (actually he bribed me) to give the mountains and fresh air a chance two weekends ago. I had one condition though…
