You don’t need a tub!

One more post for you today because I was so inspired by my visit to the “other” Lush (I usually go to the store in Palladium but today I went to the place where you pick up online orders). I had such a good experience. Normally when I go to the Lush store there are loads of people there and it can be a bit overwhelming, this on the other hand is such a quite, peaceful place. Also, and here I have to say a little bit of critique on the Lush store, I have never EVER gotten any Lush samples from the Lush store, even though I purchase LOADS of items anytime I go there and have been a very good customer. Anyways, when you place an online order, you can choose two samples and I also wrote a note asking for two additional samples as I really wanted to try out two other items. The lady there was so nice and was genuinely surprised I had never gotten samples with my purchases before (this makes me want to boycott the store because they should be nicer to their returning customers). Now on to the good stuff.

If, like one of my friends who is currently visiting the States or my cousin who also doesn’t have a tub where she lives, you don’t have a tub, you can still enjoy (some) Lush products! I usually love (and write about) the bath products the most, but Lush has a big variety of soaps and shower gels and face masks and lotions and massage bars that you can still enjoy and pamper yourself with without having a tub. I’ve decided to share my experience with some of the products from my collection and today it will be soaps:

Better late than never

IMG_5887bA very belated outfit post – I actually wore this outfit on Valentine’s day afternoon when we went food shopping and then stopped by the Sconto furniture store to pay for our new closet. Anyways, I wore a really comfy outfit that I quite liked, but it was more “wearable” than “fashionable”. I wore a super comfy pair of shoes (Kenneth Cole for Reaction “saltnpep” black pony flats) that I really love.

Little Lushings

IMG_6478I’ve been Lushing most days in order to keep myself sane. I’ve mostly been going through my Christmas sale items (I personally think their holiday items are the best anyways and in the post Christmas sales they tend to be half off, which is just amazing, so yeah) but I’ve also tried out a few that are constantly in the Lush stock. So let’s review, shall we?

Can’t wait for Spring (shoes)

Along with every other blogger I am seriously anticipating the arrival of Spring (we’ve actually had quite a mild winter so it’s not so bad). I cannot wait to stop wearing boots! Pretty heels here I come! The shoes above are my Vivienne Westwood for Melissa Skyscraper court heels, which I’ve worn once to a wedding (not the best choice as there was surprisingly a LOT of walking and standing involved and my feet were killing me…) and have yet to re-wear. I’m thinking a cinema date would be perfect, lots of sitting down and all.

Lushed Out

I apologize in advance for this being a Lush post but it has been a crazy week and the only thing keeping me sane (besides my rabbit) is the luxury of taking a lush bath every day.

Because I’ve tried out a couple more products, I thought I’d share my thoughts on how those products were. Let’s start with my new absolute FAVORITE PRODUCT EVER!! Seriously, it’s THAT good. The item in question is the Lush bubble bar Holly Golightly:

The top photo, with me in the bath and all those bubbles? Yup, thanks to Holly Golightly. This is such a great product. The smell is amazing and super festive, I love the name, it turns your bath into a lovely green color and the amount of bubbles is just insane!! I used a fourth of the bubble bar each time and I’ve already used each piece. I’m kind of sad it’s not a permanent item because I cannot wait to repurchase (I have two more in my stash but I never want to run out, so I’ll have to use them strategically.)

Loving Lately: Stripes!

As Spring draws near (I may be in denial but please don’t tell me Spring isn’t on its way, I’m so over winter already!) I have been loving everything stripped lately. And a bit of gingham, and some pastel colors too. But back to the stripes, shall we? The dress that started my stripped obsession was this little Pop Boutique number:

pop boutique sleeveless swing dress

I love that it has a little turtle neck as I feel that really offsets the shortness of the dress. The stripes are rather thin and are close together and the high neck has the stripes in a different direction. You may remember when I wore the dress here. (I cannot wait to wear it again but this time without a winter coat!) My stripe quest didn’t end with this dress though, as I managed to buy two more.

Winter lips

I wish we could just skip the rest of winter and move along to Spring 😒 because though I don’t mind cold weather at the mountains, I HATE winter in the city. I’m a winter sufferer too: my sleeping patterns are all over the place, I’m constantly too cold/too hot, and my skin gets super dry.

Especially my lips! I have to use lip balms literally all the time. Although I love lipstick I don’t tend to use any during winter. But here are some products that I use instead:

Valentine’s Day Gift Guide

I love Valentine’s Day. And that has noting to do with love or relationships, I just really like hearts and sweets and positivity. One of my fondest childhood memories is of Valentine’s Day at elementary school when we would all give each other paper cards we made and eat candy hearts. The great thing about being an adult is you get to give and receive actual meaningful gifts. Yay!asos harmony heeled shoes

If you’re struggling to find a gift for your significant other of the female gender or perhaps looking for a gift for yourself or a friend, Valentine’s day can be a bit tricky. What’s the perfect gift? For starters I’ll tell you what isn’t the perfect gift! Lingerie. For me, lingerie is a definite no-no. There are many reasons why it’s the worst gift and one of them is I think underwear is really something I need to try on, well, not the panties but bras for sure. A bra can be my size but it still won’t sit right so I would really dislike getting a bra as a gift. Secondly, lingerie is sort of more a gift for the giver than for the receiver. That said, lingerie can be a nice gift, it really depends on the person.

So if lingerie is out, what’s left you say? Shoes. Although shoes can also be something you feel you need to try on, but if you know a brand then you usually know what size you are with that brand. I’m usually a UK size 6 with Asos shoes, especially if they’re open toe heels (but if they have a pointed closed toe, then I need to size up to a 7). I adore the shoes pictured above, the Asos Harmony heeled sandals. The oversized bow is just adorable and I love the print of the shoes.

Baby, It’s Cold Outside

vintage winter coat, cat ear headband, fur collarDisclaimer: I’m an animal lover above all and I don’t think it is right for people to purchase new animal fur coats (and thus supporting the animal fur trade). That said, I’m completely fine with fur items as long as they are VINTAGE and not furthering the demand for fur items. Maybe one day that will change and I will be against all fur items (because in a way even vintage fur supports the fur trade – someone will see someone else in a lovely vintage fur coat, they’ll want it but won’t be able to find a vintage version so maybe they’ll buy a new fur coat) (and in this day and age, when synthetic clothing can be just as warm as fur, no one needs a fox/rabbit/mink etc coat except for the fox/rabbit/mink etc.)

On to the fashion.
