This was one of my favorite outfits from NYC – it included like a million layers as it was quite nippy out. But whatever, I’m a fan of layering. I also love these jeans I’m wearing, they are by DKNY, and are almost leather like. We went on another bus tour on Friday and saw more of the city.

Thursday: Day Three
Day three in NYC: so t was Thursday, the 9th, and we had planned a day of sightseeing. I sort of missed the mark on my outfit because it was super windy and I was way too cold to go sightseeing. So instead we had to go do some shopping. It was unintentional I swear 🙂 As for the unfortunate outfit, I was wearing my H&M red dress with cut-outs, which I don’t mind as long as they are covered up; a Pull&Bear cardigan; thick black tights; my black pashmina, which I wore during the entire trip; my thrifted Dunlop leather bag and my new Michael Kors flats:
Grand NYC
Our NYC trip passed by in a blur, there was so much to do and so much to see! I’ll be writing more posts as I have way too many photos, so today’s post will only show days one and two.
Shoes Shoes Shoes
You know I love me some shoes so obviously that’s what I set my heart on to buy. Well, some shoes and about a million other things! We did do quite a bit of shopping during our NYC visit, but I didn’t buy as many shoes as I always do when I am in London. One of my favorite pairs (and the only pair of heels!) are these Seychelles “Ready for Anything” heart heels in burgundy suede. I absolutely adore the heart detail (they remind me of my favorite Vivienne Westwood for Melissa lady dragons) and I really like the color combo.
I’m Back!
Sorry for the super long delay between posts, I got back from NYC on Tuesday night but it has been crazy since. Wednesday was spent half in bed (jet lag?) and half unpacking. Then I met up with my bestie for a double date and we went to Bruxx for dinner. I was a bit disappointed as they had changed the menu (and my favorite dandelion salad was on longer on it), but otherwise it was a very pleasant evening out.
As it was cold and rainy in Prague, I opted for a comfy outfit. Starring one of my favorite purchases from NYC:
Coral and Red
One more outfit from the weekend (the last one actually) and this one is from Saturday when we were running some errands. I wore my super cute Dorothy Perkins pointed toe coral flats. They have some really interesting studded detailing and they are really comfy so I really love these shoes.
Autumn in Prague
It’s funny writing this post as by the time it will appear on the blog, I will be in New York. I don’t really know what to expect from NYC, but I love autumn in Prague. Especially early autumn when it’s not so bloody cold. This outfit is from Sunday, when M and I went to have lunch with my bestie and then we did a spot of shopping and then I had to stop by work to finish up some loose ends. I was nearly running late so I had literally no time to really think about my outfit, let alone time to pick out shoes, so I just went with the simplest option – a pair of black ballet flats.
Packing List
Tomorrow I’m heading to NYC for a week of sightseeing, shopping and overeating – in other words, a typical holiday. Anyways, since I need to start packing I thought I’d share my packing list. We’re going for seven days and I’m both super thrilled and a little nervous (especially about Mr. Pig – my sister will be staying at my place and taking care of him). But it’s all good. Here’s what I’m taking on this exciting adventure.
The most essential item on my list is a pair of skinny jeans.
As my preferred type is a dark wash with a slight stretch to them, I’m taking my favorite pair from Mango and I’ll be wearing them for the flight as I want to be both relatively comfortable but not sluggish.
Autumn Wish List
There are so many things on my current Autumn wish list. This year in particular I’ve been wearing jeans a lot more than I used to and besides a new pair of skinny jeans, I am also on the look out for:
DUNGAREES. Or overalls. Whatever you want to call them, I am totally embracing them this year. I found the pair above in H&M and I tried on the size EUR38 (the largest ones that they had) and although I could put them on okay and they did fit, they didn’t fit they way I wanted. I’m looking for a very relaxed, slightly slouchy feel and that won’t work if the pants part look just like a skinny jean. I went to THREE different H&M stores and they didn’t have bigger sizes anywhere, it was super frustrating as I really want these, but in a size 40 or maybe even in 42s. I also quite like the ones pictured below, from Noisy May, which are sold out, though I think I’d prefer a darker color, like the ones from H&M. Anyways, I’m totally hoping to buy a pair of dungarees while I’m in NYC.
A Happy Visit
The last of my weekend outfits is this one from Sunday. I kept things casual with my oldest pair of shoes, my converse trainers. I’ve had these shoes since I was about fifteen. By now they don’t really look like the product image as they are beaten up and Mr. Pig has eaten parts of the laces (which I have been too lazy to replace, ops). Plus I happen to think that converse whose look better when they are all “lived in”. The rest of my outfit was a pair of skinny jeans, a thrifted mustard colored bag, M’s scarf, a striped tee (Zara) and a sweater that I DIYed (it used to be much longer, also from Zara).
