The Holidays

IMG_5213As much as I dislike winter (I believe it should ONLY be cold and snowing at the mountains) I really love the holidays. I typically save up my vacation days and then have a very relaxed December. I also adore kitschy holiday fashion. Give me reindeer and bells all winter long. I particularly LOVE this reindeer sweatshirt from F&F. It combines three aspects that make it a winter favorite: it was cheap, it’s super cute and very warm. And surprisingly I’ve actually been wearing it a lot!

Fake It to Make It

It will probably come to no surprise to you that I have been completely, devastatingly sad lately. I’m trying really hard not to be overcome with the sadness though and I figured the best way would be to continue doing the things I used to really like doing, like this blog. Honestly, I don’t think the blog will ever be the same, Dracul was too much a part of it, but I still want this to be a happy place.

H&M blue coat with leather look sleevesI’ve bought a few things lately but to be honest they haven’t cheered me up too much. Nothing can take away the pain when you lose a loved pet, it just takes time I guess. But back to the materialistic crap I’ve obtained. Starting with a lovely coat from H&M. I got it in the sale for super cheap (it was 75% off) and since I liked it from the time it came out (but back then I thought it was over-priced) I knew that I wanted it. I really like the detailing – the leather look sleeves, the shearling collar, the gold buttons and the chunky zippers on the sleeves. I’ve worn it every single day from the time that I got it but pretty soon it may be too cold for it, but still I think it was a good purchase.

H&M blue coat with leather look sleeves backI placed an order on Asos when they had the 20% off everything sale and it has arrived today so that was nice. I didn’t really get too many things but a few nicknacks and a pair of pretty shoes. Continue reading Fake It to Make It

Graffiti Duck

IMG_5115See, I wasn’t kidding about wear these shoes ALL THE TIME. I wear them mostly with skinny jeans – which I have been seriously loving this month. I don’t know, either my style has gone really laid back or I’ve just become a bit more lazy, but seriously, nothing is as easy as putting on a pair of skinny jeans and a few layers and calling it an outfit.

Favorite Boots

IMG_5043This outfit is from two weeks ago Saturday when the boy and I went shopping. We bought some books and also birthday gifts for my grandpa (who is now 89 years old) and for my brother, on Sunday we had a nice family lunch over at my grandparents’ house. I didn’t take any photos on Sunday (and I had on a pretty neat pair of shoes too) so the ones from Saturday will have to do.

IMG_5046My favorite part of this outfit are the boots – I thrifted them in the beginning of November and have been wearing them almost non-stop ever since. I love them! They’re from Topshop and are super comfy. They have a flat heel perfect for walking and some shearling inside to keep me warm. They also have two buckles but I don’t have to unbuckle them to put them on or off. Oh and if you’re wondering what books I got, both are written by Mo Hayder and are Pig Island and Poppet.

Suddenly I Love You

IMG_4997When I purchased this Asos parka I never thought I would get as much wear out of it as I have. I actually never expected to wear it so much! I have been wearing it nonstop lately – mainly because I have still failed to retrieve the rest of my warmer coats from storage – but also because it’s one of those items that are so easy to wear.

Buyer’s Remorse

I’ve done a fair bit of shopping this month but truthfully, not all of it has been good. I hate it when I order something and then the item that I receive isn’t as I expected. I thought I’d share the bad purchases with you (and then maybe a few of the good ones 🙂 ).truffle cosy ankle bootsThe first item on my wish-I-hadn’t-bought list are these Ugg-like boots from Truffle. I was looking for a warm pair of boots to see me through the winter and although these could have fit the bill, the sizing is a bit off and I find them a tad too small. I am hoping I will be able to stretch them out a bit, but I have to admit to being disappointed with this purchase.

Enchanted

Prague VltavaLast Tuesday was a state holiday and M and I went on a little outing. Instead of staying home we went to Prague’s city center and had quite a nice trip. Our adventure started in good form – with lunch at a place called At the Blind Cat. We had delicious crepes (that is their specialty), pictured below is the one I had (it was with warm raspberries and vanilla ice cream and whipped cream, yum) – M had a salty crepe (I’ve never had one before and was surprised that the dough was different). We also had soup (mine was tomato, yum) and we shared an additional crepe for desert (with blueberries and cream) – so suffice to say we were stuffed (I could hardly move).

Sheepy Cute

IMG_4911Last  Sunday after returning from our wine cellar outing, we relaxed at home for a bit and then later that day we went out to see the film Qu’est-qu’on fait au Bon Dieu? I LOVED the movie, it was perfect! I also loved the outfit I was wearing. I used my last chance to wear my Mr. Sheep vest. We went by car so I could get away with it (otherwise I would have been way too cold!) and I have to say yet again how much I love it: I love it a lot!

OOTD: Green on Green

IMG_4895This outfit is from ages ago (from the 24th of  October) and I was really going full out with the green. It all started with this dress from Topshop with its wonderful laser cut square cut-outs. I know I mentioned before that I dislike cut-outs on dresses (though I love them on shoes!) but with cut-outs like these, I really like them. Anyways, I first saw this dress in London actually, it was on sale but I think they didn’t have my size or it wasn’t that much on sale. Long story short, I stopped by my local (ha, there’s only one in Prague) Topshop store, saw it in the current sale, the last one and in my size, and I knew it would be mine.
