Autumn in Prague

IMG_4295It’s funny writing this post as by the time it will appear on the blog, I will be in New York. I don’t really know what to expect from NYC, but I love autumn in Prague. Especially early autumn when it’s not so bloody cold. This outfit is from Sunday, when M and I went to have lunch with my bestie and then we did a spot of shopping and then I had to stop by work to finish up some loose ends. I was nearly running late so I had literally no time to really think about my outfit, let alone time to pick out shoes, so I just went with the simplest option – a pair of black ballet flats.

Packing List

Tomorrow I’m heading to NYC for a week of sightseeing, shopping and overeating – in other words, a typical holiday. Anyways, since I need to start packing I thought I’d share my packing list. We’re going for seven days and I’m both super thrilled and a little nervous (especially about Mr. Pig – my sister will be staying at my place and taking care of him). But it’s all good. Here’s what I’m taking on this exciting adventure.

The most essential item on my list is a pair of skinny jeans.

skinny jeans As my preferred type is a dark wash with a slight stretch to them, I’m taking my favorite pair from Mango and I’ll be wearing them for the flight as I want to be both relatively comfortable but not sluggish.

Autumn Wish List

There are so many things on my current Autumn wish list. This year in particular I’ve been wearing jeans a lot more than I used to and besides a new pair of skinny jeans, I am also on the look out for:

H&M dungareesDUNGAREES. Or overalls. Whatever you want to call them, I am totally embracing them this  year. I found the pair above in H&M and I tried on the size EUR38 (the largest ones that they had) and although I could put them on okay and they did fit, they didn’t fit they way I wanted. I’m looking for a very relaxed, slightly slouchy feel and that won’t work if the pants part look just like a skinny jean. I went to THREE different H&M stores and they didn’t have bigger sizes anywhere, it was super frustrating as I really want these, but in a size 40 or maybe even in 42s. I also quite like the ones pictured below, from Noisy May,  which are sold out, though I think I’d prefer a darker color, like the ones from H&M. Anyways, I’m totally hoping to buy a pair of dungarees while I’m in NYC.

A Happy Visit

converse casual outfitThe last of my weekend outfits is this one from Sunday. I kept things casual with my oldest pair of shoes, my converse trainers. I’ve had these shoes since I was about fifteen. By now they don’t really look like the product image as they are beaten up and Mr. Pig has eaten parts of the laces (which I have been too lazy to replace, ops). Plus I happen to think that converse whose look better when they are all “lived in”. The rest of my outfit was a pair of skinny jeans, a thrifted mustard colored bag, M’s scarf, a striped tee (Zara) and a sweater that I DIYed (it used to be much longer, also from Zara).

A Long Piggy Walk

walking Mr. PigOne of my favorite parts of the weekend is always when M and I and Mr. Pig go on a super long walk. I love that it’s the three of us together, we don’t get much down time during the week. So these long walks are really special to me. I’m also glad that I remembered to take my phone as I usually just leave it home and there wouldn’t have been photos otherwise. I’ve been wearing these shoes to work (I wore them two times last week) but hadn’t managed to get any outfit photos so I risked taking them on the pig walk and happily Dracul didn’t get them all dirty. You might remember them from the leopard  print shoes post?

At the Fair

casual blogger, slouchy tee and skinny jeans, converseOn Saturday M and I went to the annual grape harvest/ wine tasting celebration that takes place near where we live. Luckily the weather was beautiful and it was really nice just sitting at the vineyard drinking burcak (new half-fermented wine also called scrumpy). I picked my outfit for maximum comfort. I think I looked like a teenager. Definitely not my usual outfit but I quite liked it.

Whisky Convention

very veronique asos flower texture black dress, mel toffe apple shoesThis weekend kicked off to a good start with Friday night: M and I went to the annual Prague whisky convention (Whisky Live Prague) and as I was dying to wear my new dress (the one I mentioned in my last post), I wore it to the event. The dress is from Asos and I love love love the texture of the skirt part. I kept the rest of my outfit relatively simple, going all black with some gold detailing (H&M studded belt, Asos left earrings), and as for my shoes…

Currently…

Just a quick post today, I’m off to work and in a rush but here’s what’s going on in my life right this minute:

Currently READING

moranthologyI have been a huge Caitlin Moran fan ever since I read her lovely book How to be a Woman. I’ve had her next book Moranthology on my reading list for quite a long time but never could get to it, finally, as now I am in between exams, I  have some time to read whatever I want, I’ve started reading it. I also have her most recent book How to Build a Girl on my book shelves and it’s in my reading queue.

New  PURCHASEShasbeens creamy whiteI have been lusting after a pair of Swedish Hasbeens for AGES and I finally bought my first pair yesterday. Yeah, I know, obviously I buy a pair of summer clogs right after summer ends, ugh! But anyways, they will wait for me until next year. I really want to get a pair that is all red next time but these are great for the beginning of my Hasbeens clog collection 🙂 Oh and I also bought/swapped a new dress that I’ll hopefully wear either this evening for this weekend so you’ll be seeing it soon.  It’s a LBD from Asos and what makes it really special is the texture of the skirt part of the dress, but more about the dress once I wear it.

Zoo Trip

at the zooOn Saturday M and I went to visit the Prague Zoo. I got to see some of my favorite animals and wear a cute outfit, so I was a happy girl. I went in comfy Melissa flats because a)there was a lot of walking involved and b)it was threatening to rain (and it did in fact rain while we were having lunch). The shoes in question are Melissa Doris Spike t-bar flats in red. I really like these shoes. I’m a sucker for red shoes in general but I also absolutely love studs on shoes, so of course I love these shoes. Plus they are also really comfy!
