As Busy as a Bee

IMG_4435I think they should change that saying into “as busy as a person visiting New York City”. Anyways, our weekend was extremely super busy. We paid for a three day New York City Pass and we started using our cards on Saturday – we visited MoMA and the Met and also stopped by Central Park and picked up tickets for the next morning to visit the Top of the Rock (it was a rainy day and they had said that the current visibility was zero.) On Sunday, after breakfast we went to the top of the Rockefeller building (luckily it was a beautiful sunny day), then we went to the Intrepid museum, then we went to Central Park and crossed it to the Natural History Museum, and later still we went to the Empire State Building. Phew, Sunday was the busiest day.  Anyways, the photo above is from this little diner where we went to hide from the rain and also to experience a true American breakfast. This was my meal (though I gave M half my eggs and all of the sausages and the bacon) and I had a vanilla shake. I must say pancakes and maple syrup are THE BEST BREAKFAST EVER.

Shoes Shoes Shoes

seychelles ready for anything heart detail pumpsYou know I love me some shoes so obviously that’s what I set my heart on to buy. Well, some shoes and about a million other things! We did do quite a bit of shopping during our NYC visit, but I didn’t buy as many shoes as I always do when I am in London. One of my favorite pairs (and the only pair of heels!) are these Seychelles “Ready for Anything” heart heels in burgundy suede. I absolutely adore the heart detail (they remind me of my favorite Vivienne Westwood for Melissa lady dragons) and I really like the color combo.

I’m Back!

Sorry for the super long delay between posts, I got back from NYC on Tuesday night but it has been crazy since. Wednesday was spent half in bed (jet lag?) and half unpacking. Then I met up with my bestie for a double date and we went to Bruxx for dinner. I was a bit disappointed as they had changed the menu (and my favorite dandelion salad was on longer on it), but otherwise it was a very pleasant evening out.

Autumn Wish List

There are so many things on my current Autumn wish list. This year in particular I’ve been wearing jeans a lot more than I used to and besides a new pair of skinny jeans, I am also on the look out for:

H&M dungareesDUNGAREES. Or overalls. Whatever you want to call them, I am totally embracing them this  year. I found the pair above in H&M and I tried on the size EUR38 (the largest ones that they had) and although I could put them on okay and they did fit, they didn’t fit they way I wanted. I’m looking for a very relaxed, slightly slouchy feel and that won’t work if the pants part look just like a skinny jean. I went to THREE different H&M stores and they didn’t have bigger sizes anywhere, it was super frustrating as I really want these, but in a size 40 or maybe even in 42s. I also quite like the ones pictured below, from Noisy May,  which are sold out, though I think I’d prefer a darker color, like the ones from H&M. Anyways, I’m totally hoping to buy a pair of dungarees while I’m in NYC.

Whisky Convention

very veronique asos flower texture black dress, mel toffe apple shoesThis weekend kicked off to a good start with Friday night: M and I went to the annual Prague whisky convention (Whisky Live Prague) and as I was dying to wear my new dress (the one I mentioned in my last post), I wore it to the event. The dress is from Asos and I love love love the texture of the skirt part. I kept the rest of my outfit relatively simple, going all black with some gold detailing (H&M studded belt, Asos left earrings), and as for my shoes…

Zoo Trip

at the zooOn Saturday M and I went to visit the Prague Zoo. I got to see some of my favorite animals and wear a cute outfit, so I was a happy girl. I went in comfy Melissa flats because a)there was a lot of walking involved and b)it was threatening to rain (and it did in fact rain while we were having lunch). The shoes in question are Melissa Doris Spike t-bar flats in red. I really like these shoes. I’m a sucker for red shoes in general but I also absolutely love studs on shoes, so of course I love these shoes. Plus they are also really comfy!

Leopard Print Flats

blink mouse leopard printSo, leopard print flats are one of my favorite types of flat shoes. I think they can take an outfit further than regular black flats, which I otherwise would constantly be wearing. The shoes pictured above are one of my favorites. They are by Blink and I love the cutesy bow and mouse face on the toe of the shoes – just adorable. You’ve seen them on this blog before:

Leopard Print Heels

Yesterday’s shoe purchase post got me thinking about leopard print shoes. Leo print is one of my all-time favorites on shoes. It is almost a “neutral” in my book. I counted that I have 29 pairs of leopard print shoes in my current collection. Anyways, I thought it would  be nice to do a sort of tribute to/flashback of my leopard print shoes.

Let’s start with one of my favorites:

miss selfridge leopard print heelsThese shoes are from Miss Selfridge and I got them in 2011 when we were on vacation in London (I bought 14 pairs of shoes on that trip, crazy.) I’ll be honest and say they aren’t the most comfortable shoes in the world, but they are still amazing.
