Happy New Year!
I know I have been more gone than here lately but hopefully that will soon change, as my New Year’s resolution is to blog more. (That shouldn’t be hard as I’ve really sucked at blogging.)

The Holidays
As much as I dislike winter (I believe it should ONLY be cold and snowing at the mountains) I really love the holidays. I typically save up my vacation days and then have a very relaxed December. I also adore kitschy holiday fashion. Give me reindeer and bells all winter long. I particularly LOVE this reindeer sweatshirt from F&F. It combines three aspects that make it a winter favorite: it was cheap, it’s super cute and very warm. And surprisingly I’ve actually been wearing it a lot!
Fake It to Make It
It will probably come to no surprise to you that I have been completely, devastatingly sad lately. I’m trying really hard not to be overcome with the sadness though and I figured the best way would be to continue doing the things I used to really like doing, like this blog. Honestly, I don’t think the blog will ever be the same, Dracul was too much a part of it, but I still want this to be a happy place.
I’ve bought a few things lately but to be honest they haven’t cheered me up too much. Nothing can take away the pain when you lose a loved pet, it just takes time I guess. But back to the materialistic crap I’ve obtained. Starting with a lovely coat from H&M. I got it in the sale for super cheap (it was 75% off) and since I liked it from the time it came out (but back then I thought it was over-priced) I knew that I wanted it. I really like the detailing – the leather look sleeves, the shearling collar, the gold buttons and the chunky zippers on the sleeves. I’ve worn it every single day from the time that I got it but pretty soon it may be too cold for it, but still I think it was a good purchase.
I placed an order on Asos when they had the 20% off everything sale and it has arrived today so that was nice. I didn’t really get too many things but a few nicknacks and a pair of pretty shoes. Continue reading Fake It to Make It
Goodbye my friend
Dracul is gone.
He died suddenly, apparently a heart issue. I miss him so much. Nothing is the same anymore. I wish we had had more time together but I’m thankful for what we did have, he was such a good pig.
Walking Mr. Pig
These photos were taken about two weeks ago? What a difference in weather! It is currently raining sleet and everything is horrible and freezing and wet. Ugh. These past few days my pig walking has been limited to bare minimums – we go out, he gets his business accomplished and we race back home.
Wearing: old knitted hat – H&M, bright trench – F&F, ugg-like boots – Truffle via Asos.
* They’re still a tad too small but for the occasional pig walk, they’ll do.
Graffiti Duck
See, I wasn’t kidding about wear these shoes ALL THE TIME. I wear them mostly with skinny jeans – which I have been seriously loving this month. I don’t know, either my style has gone really laid back or I’ve just become a bit more lazy, but seriously, nothing is as easy as putting on a pair of skinny jeans and a few layers and calling it an outfit.
Favorite Boots
This outfit is from two weeks ago Saturday when the boy and I went shopping. We bought some books and also birthday gifts for my grandpa (who is now 89 years old) and for my brother, on Sunday we had a nice family lunch over at my grandparents’ house. I didn’t take any photos on Sunday (and I had on a pretty neat pair of shoes too) so the ones from Saturday will have to do.
My favorite part of this outfit are the boots – I thrifted them in the beginning of November and have been wearing them almost non-stop ever since. I love them! They’re from Topshop and are super comfy. They have a flat heel perfect for walking and some shearling inside to keep me warm. They also have two buckles but I don’t have to unbuckle them to put them on or off. Oh and if you’re wondering what books I got, both are written by Mo Hayder and are Pig Island and Poppet.
Suddenly I Love You
When I purchased this Asos parka I never thought I would get as much wear out of it as I have. I actually never expected to wear it so much! I have been wearing it nonstop lately – mainly because I have still failed to retrieve the rest of my warmer coats from storage – but also because it’s one of those items that are so easy to wear.
Favorite New Toy
My kindle fire died recently – it was very gradual: first the charger for it died, then the USB started to have huge problems and then finally the kindle itself. As I am a happy reader (I usually read a book a day), I needed a replacement asap. So I kept nagging (but just a little) and finally I received my Xmas present from M early (woo-hoo!) and a now have a favorite new toy. The Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition is really fun, I love the Stylus pen that comes with it and I really like making S Notes 🙂 Though I usually like my appliances to be pink (or at least have the case have a vibrant color), I quite like that both my Note and its case is in white – there’s something really minimalistic and sophisticated about it.
