Trench Continued

ironfist plus trench coatBut how about my favorite way to wear a trench? And also the way I wear it the most? Well, that’s simple really – it’s wearing it with a dress (orย  skirt) that has a shorter hem line than the trench coat. It’s provocative and sexy. It’s a bit naughty (especially if people can’t tell if you’re wearing something underneath or not).

The photo above is from September last year and my shoes are from Aldo. I love pairing a beige trench coat with brown or tan shoes. I mean, yes, it does literally go with everything (even with a striking pair of red shoes like in the first photo where I’m wearing my Iron Fist Queen of heart wedges), iron fist queen of heartsbut I love matching tones as is the case with my Aldo Brogues.

tench coat and vagabondTo be honest this is my least favorite look. I think the skirt/dress in question has to be tight fitting (as it is in this outfit from November 2013) but I still prefer a shorter hem to match the coat. I frankly just don’t like that dress (F&F) but I do love the shoes (vagabond bondage wedges):

Because I do really like this combination. It’s effortless chic. (These are one of my favorite wedges too. They’re GlamLong shearling detail leather wedges and I love them, especially since you can have them both up or folded down.)

rainy day bluesBut because I wanted to save the best for last, here is my favorite of the short hem outfits I’ve worn in the past:

Maison Martin Margiela invisible wedge bootsI know I’ve posted about these boots in one of my Favorites posts and that’s because these are incredible boots! It almost looks like you’re walking on air and they are actually rather comfortable (though they are hell taking off! Considering they are easy to put on, it was quite a shock the first time I wore them since I almost couldn’t get them off.)
