It’s been a while since I’ve done a favorites post and after I went to see Bill Bailey’s show I had wanted to do a post dedicated to Henry Holland for Pretty Polly tights anyways, so it was just a matter of time before those two ideas met to make this post. The Henry Holland for Pretty Polly fake stir up tights. I probably don’t have to say that I LOVE these tights. They are pretty much the perfect pair of tights. They’re durable (they don’t tear), they’re interesting and unique. Now I would say that you definitely need to be careful when styling these. The wrong styling could take these lovely tights from being cool and stylish to looking cheap and whoreish. Here are some ways I’ve worn these tights (and other Henry Holland tights) in the past:I wore this outfit around the 11th of October 2013 to go see a Bollywood zombie movie called Go Goa Gone and then to a friend’s birthday party.
As far as my outfit, though I do love these tights, for me, it was all about the shoes. I adore these shoes! They’re by Stradivarius and they have a lovely studded design. (Outfit details: Mark B for Topshop bag, H&M coat, Zara dress, vintage umbrella)
The next outfit is from February 2012. I don’t know why the quality is so bad, sorry. And this is one of my favorite outfits I ever wore too. I guess I’ll just have to copy it sometime and get better photos, though that could be difficult as I don’t have those shoes anymore. I wore them to death – they were a gorgeous pair of leopard print pointed toe flats that were purchased in a Paris boutique. They were my “lucky” shoes, I loved them! Those shoes were perfect. I surprisingly couldn’t find any other photos of me wearing these shoes but maybe when I look more thoroughly through my archives I’ll find something. Fingers crossed! (Outfit details: Zara printed scarf, Topshop unique dress, Liquor brand leopard print bag)
The next outfit features a different pair of Henry Holland tights -the star print tights. These tights were actually a huge disappointment, they tore right the first time I had them on. Otherwise they would have been great, the star print is bold and fun and I would have loved wearing these more. (Worn on June 1st 2011. Outfit details: thrifted skirt, Zara tee, Zara studded bag, H&M sailor flats.)
I did give them another try in July (2011). I torn more holes to make it look intentional. I don’t mind this outfit, looking back at the photos I actually quite like it but I’m not even sure whether I threw out the tights or if I still have them. As for the shoes, I love how they look but they are really uncomfortable. (Outfit details: Stradivarius jacket, H&M skirt, Zara tee, Topshop belt, Asos PowerTip block heeled courts, Stradivarius bag.)
The last pair of Henry Holland tights that I have are the star knee ones. Here worn in the middle of June, 2011, with one of my favorite H&M skirts and a pair of Zara heels. (Plus a Promod tee and Stradivarius bag.) It was an insanely windy day.
I also wore these tights on the 19th of October 2011 for a spot of shopping. (Outfit details: Stradivarius cropped fake leather jacket, Zara sweater, H&M tee, Topshop satchel bag, Irregular Choice “Mad Tea Party” courts, Zara Woman mini skirt.) These tights have actually more than once got me thinking of maybe getting my knees tattooed, we’ll see. I’m getting a new tatt tomorrow (excited!) but it’ll be something different… Stay tuned.
